Toronto will be one of three IndyCar tracks to feature a doubleheader

The Honda Indy Toronto will feature an important addition in 2013: a doubleheader weekend of IZOD IndyCar Series races. The addition of back-to-back races in Toronto is a first in the history of the event, which will run July 12-14 at Exhibition Place.

Track construction officially begins at the Honda Indy Toronto

For more than two decades, Director of Operations for the Honda Indy Toronto, Jim Tario has led the construction of the event’s race track. With this season’s race weekend fast approaching, Tario and his highly-skilled construction team began the conversion of the city’s streets surrounding Exhibition Place into the 2.84 km, 11-turn street course that continues to feature the fastest, most versatile race cars and drivers in the world.

Following his participation as honorary flagman at the NAPA 100 last summer, held at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve on Ile Notre-Dame, now Richard “Dick” Foley will be inducted into the “Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame” next Saturday in Toronto along with other Canadians and Michael Andretti ( in international category). CSBK returns to Le Circuit August 10-12
The Canadian Superbike Championship will return to Circuit Mont-Tremblant in the Laurentian Mountains in Quebec next summer, with a National motorcycle roadracing event at the famed venue August 10-12. At Toronto’s Exhibition Place
The NASCAR Canadian Tire Series, this week, visits Toronto’s Exhibition Place for the Streets of Toronto 100 on July 8-9 as part of the Honda Indy Toronto. This is the series’ second year to be involved in the event. It is the 2011 season’s fifth event and the third of five races this year on road courses.

First up is this weekend’s NASCAR race on the streets of Toronto at Exhibition Place

Canadian NASCAR driver Pierre Bourque will begin his summer racing schedule with backing again this season from long time partners Aaron’s, Telus and Mahindra Tractors. Bourque will again drive a DJK Racing prepared race car in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series at some of the largest racing events in Canada.
