Bridgestone worked around the clock to continue evaluation of its 2012 specification tyre
The first round of pre-season MotoGP testing was completed last week, with Bridgestone supplying its 2012 specification tyre to both the private Valencia test and the IRTA test at Sepang as it forges ahead with its preparations for the upcoming season

Round 18: Valencia GP – Race
The final race of the season was an action-packed thriller, filled with the uncertainty of spots of rain that fell almost for the duration of the 30 laps, getting harder at times and challenging riders and tyres alike, leaving them guessing at grip level corner by corner. Every rider used the softer option rear slicks, and most switched to the softer fronts on the grid, leaving only Casey Stoner, Ben Spies, Cal Crutchlow and Karel Abraham on the harder option.

Round 11: Czech Republic GP – Post-race debrief
The Czech Republic Grand Prix restarted the season following a short summer break after the United States Grand Prix, and 238,000 spectators turned out to witness the action at the Brno circuit over the three days. Apart from a wet morning practice on Saturday, the rest of the MotoGP track-time was dry and the temperature was warm.

Round 11: Czech Republic GP – Free Practice One & Two
Dani Pedrosa led the way in both of today’s free practice sessions, finishing 0.377seconds ahead of Repsol Honda teammate Casey Stoner. In both 45-minute sessions, Pedrosa was the only rider to dip below the existing lap record and actually went faster in the morning; impressive on just the first day of running for the Czech Grand Prix.

Round 3: Portuguese GP – Official post-race test
Bridgestone made full use of the official one-day post-race test at the Estoril circuit today, supplying every rider with one test front slick tyre and two specs of rear slick in addition to the normal test allocation. The test was a valuable opportunity for Bridgestone to continue tyre testing, specifically with a view for the 1000cc MotoGP bikes next year.

Round 3: Portuguese GP – Race
Repsol Honda’s Dani Pedrosa took victory at the Portuguese Grand Prix today with a dominant performance that saw him take the lead on lap 25 and never look back. The Spaniard tailed fellow countryman Jorge Lorenzo for much of the race before making his move four laps from the end.

Round 3: Portuguese GP – Free Practice One & Two
Whilst the weather forecast predicted rain all day, Estoril demonstrated how unpredictable its climate is and both MotoGP free practice sessions remained dry, although the rain came the moment the flag dropped on the premier class this afternoon. Overnight rain left the tarmac dirty and slippery however.

MotoGP winter test
The first official MotoGP test of the 2011 season came to a conclusion today after three days of running at the Sepang International Circuit, Malaysia. Despite the normally inclement weather, the busy testing schedules of the teams, riders and Bridgestone were aided by three full days of dry running.

At round 17 for Portugal Grand Prix qualifying
A second day of torrential rain and high winds forced this afternoon’s qualifying session to be cancelled. In many places the circuit was flooded, causing the cancellation on safety grounds and meaning that the grid for tomorrow’s race will be decided based on the fastest laps from the free practice sessions.

Round 14: Japanese Grand Prix – Post-race debrief
After being postponed from its original date of April, the Japanese Grand Prix was held at the beginning of October, meaning higher ambient and track temperatures and still the possibility of rain. Rain only fell on Thursday and the track remained dry for the rest of the grand prix weekend, but to cope with the increased temperature Bridgestone brought harder slick tyre compounds than had been selected for the April date.
The first round of MotoGP testing for the 2012 season has been completed following the end of the first Sepang test with Bridgestone undertaking extensive assessment of its 2012 specification tyres.
