Stars of the American Canadian Tour will go head-to-head
The Merchants Bank 150 at Barre’s Thunder Road cranked up the heat on the American Canadian Tour, shaking up the point standings before a key showdown takes place at the Spring Green 113 this Sunday, May 5 at Devil’s Bowl Speedway in West Haven, VT.

Over 80 stock cars were displayed on Main Street in Barre
The stars of the American Canadian Tour and Thunder Road’s local divisions lit up Barre, VT for the annual Car Show on Saturday, April 27 before heading to The Nation’s Site of Excitement for a practice in preparation for the 15th Annual Merchants Bank 150 on Sunday, April 28.

Eddie MacDonald, a two-time New Hampshire Motor Speedway winner with the American Canadian Tour (ACT), has entered the Merchants Bank 150 at Thunder Road this Sunday, April 28, adding to a star-studded entry list for Thunder Road’s season opening event.

American Canadian Tour officials have announced a major inaugural weekend event for the 2013 season: The International 500.
The landmark event will be run at Airborne Speedway in Plattsburgh, NY on the weekend of July 20th and 21st. The ‘500’ will be comprised of (300) three hundred laps for ACT Late Model Championship teams from throughout New England and Eastern Canada. The Late Model portion of the ‘500’ will be run similarly to Thunder Road’s famous Milk Bowl with (3) three 100-lap segments.

With championship titles across the region completed, American Canadian Tour Late Models will take the gloves off one last time in 2012.
After two attempts at the 50th Annual People’s United Bank Milk Bowl, racers and fans have received word of a good forecast for this Sunday, October 28th to run the $160,000 event. Two-time Thunder Road Champion Dave Pembroke will take another shot at starting from the pole, with 8-time ACT Champion Brian Hoar as his dancing partner in second.

The biggest race of the year, The 50th People’s United Bank Milk Bowl, has become the primetime focus for ACT teams across the region. 51 ACT Championship cars will enter Barre, VT’s Thunder Road, in an attempt to earn the lion’s share of a purse worth over $160,000.

Drivers look ahead to $50,000 bonus
When 51 ACT Late Model stock cars arrive at Barre, VT’s Thunder Road on Sunday, October 14th for the 50th People’s United Bank Milk Bowl, an extra incentive will be on their minds: Curley’s $50,000 Challenge. The challenge, put out by long-time Promoter Tom Curley, is a $50,000 bonus to any driver that can win all three segments of the year-end Milk Bowl.

50th Milk Bowl postponed
The season-ending event, which has posted record awards of over $160,000 will run on Sunday, October 14th with a post time of 1:00pm. Two-time Thunder Road Champion David Pembroke will try to take a crack at the $50,000 bonus for winning all three segments from the Booth Brother’s Pole Position that he earned through time trials on Saturday.

Eight-time Champion Brian Hoar made it clear his championship defense was far from over on Sunday afternoon at Thunder Road, claiming the clutch victory in the 34th Annual Bond Auto Labor Day Classic. Current point leader Wayne Helliwell, Jr. made him earn it, finishing a close second, and three-time Thunder Road track champion Cris Michaud rounded out the podium finishers.

American Canadian Tour officials have announced a five-race stretch of events through September and the first week of October boasting over $300,000 in winnings called Fall ACTion. Fall ACTion will be kicked off by the Bond Auto Labor Day Classic at Thunder Road on Sunday, September 2, and closed out by the Fall Foliage 200 at Airborne Speedway on Sunday, October 6.

Labor Day Classic kicks off $300,000 fall winnings
The championship battle for the American Canadian Tour’s biggest stars will be in town for a critical points event this Sunday, September 2 at the 34th Annual Bond Auto Labor Day Classic at Barre’s Thunder Road. Point leader Wayne Helliwell, Jr. will have to defend his slim 22-point lead from eight-time ACT Champion Brian Hoar, hot off his win at Circuit Riverside Speedway in Ste-Croix, QC last weekend.

Thunder Road officials have announced that the 50th Annual People’s United Bank Milk Bowl on Sunday, September 30th, will boast winnings exceeding $100,000 for competitors at “The Nation’s Site of Excitement.” It is the highest purse ever posted for the event deemed the “Toughest Short Track Race in America”.

Badore, Whitcomb bounce back for feature victories
Barre’s hometown hero Nick Sweet continued a dominating 2012 with a dazzling victory in the Vermont Governor’s Cup 150 presented by the VT Lottery Commission at Thunder Road on Thursday (July 12). Sweet was hounded by defending Champion Dave Pembroke, and perennial front runner Scott Payea picked up third place. Young sensation Cody Blake crossed the line fourth, with 2011 Governor’s Cup winner John Donahue rounding out the top five.
