Villeneuve denies turning down Lotus F1 chance
Jacques Villeneuve has denied he threw away a good chance to return to formula one in 2011.
A French Canadian radio commentator had implied that the 1997 world champion was offered the Indycar drive in Lotus colours this year and would then have progressed to F1 when the sports car marque announced its 2011 tie-up with Renault.

Alex Tagliani moves up the field to finish 13th in Japan (+result)

Starting in the back of grid in 23rd position, Canadian driver Alex Tagliani moved up the field in the penultimate race of the 2010 IZOD IndyCar schedule to finish 13th in the Indy Japan 300 held Sunday at the 2.414-km Twin Ring Motegi oval located 130 kilometers north of Tokyo in Japan.
On his first-ever visit to the 2.414-km Kentucky Speedway tri-oval, Canadian Alex Tagliani placed his No 77 Bowers & Wilkins Dallara in 13th position in Friday’s lone qualifying session. Jul 16
Dixon tops opening practice in Toronto (+result)
Tagliani posted third best time
Scott Dixon was quickest in opening practice for this weekend’s Honda Indy Toronto IndyCar street race, despite tangling with Takuma Sato at the end of the hour. Contact between Dixon and Sato at Turn 6 resulted in the KV car spin around in front of Dixon’s Ganassi Dallara and come to a halt blocking it. The following Bertrand Baguette (Conquest) then slid into the rear of Dixon’s car in the traffic jam.
Conquest Racing rookies, Mario Romancini and Bertrand Baguette, will get their first chance to run an IZOD IndyCar Series car on an oval when they participate in the all-rookie oval test at Kansas Speedway on Wednesday. Apr 16

Simona De Silvestro impresses at 2010 IZOD IndyCar Series open test
Takuma Sato completed his first ever IRL test, he finished an impressive 6th place overall.
The 2010 IZOD IndyCar Series testing season got off to a positive start when Team Stargate Worlds/HVM Racing concluded a two-day Open Test at Barber Motorsports Park in Huntsville, Ala., with driver Simona De Silvestro. The test marks the third time in which Team Stargate Worlds and HVM Racing have partnered up with De Silvestro in the cockpit and once again the recipe proved fruitful.
Takuma Sato said no to making a return to formula one this year with the struggling new teams Campos or USF1.
