New Lotus called T128, not TL11
Team Lotus confirms no KERS for 2011 car
The Team Lotus 2011 challenger T128 was launched on Monday 31st January exclusively in Team Lotus Notes. The special launch edition of the team’s magazine has a number of first-see images of the 2011 car and insights from key players within Team Lotus into the design and build process of the new car, including people from the Aero, R&D and Vehicle Dynamics, Design and Senior Management Teams.

DuPont Refinish liquid logo on the team’s T127
DuPont Refinish has become an Official Technical Supplier to the Lotus Racing Formula One™ team with immediate effect. The agreement, signed at the German Grand Prix in Hockenheim on Sunday 25 July 2010, sees the paint manufacturer provide full technical support to Lotus Racing, the fastest new team in the 2010 FIA Formula One™ World Championship.

Amid rumours the team could switch to Renault power
The logo of team boss Tony Fernandes’ AirAsia airline could finally be added to the 2010 Lotus car. Until now, Fernandes has been content to advertise only his investment firm Tune Group on the green T127, due to an existing sponsorship arrangement between AirAsia and Williams.

The news is an embarrassment to Silverstone based Force India
Force India’s newly-appointed technical director is switching teams to Lotus, it was announced on Wednesday. Lotus, F1′s new Malaysian-backed team, said in a statement that Mark Smith will become technical director “at the end of his Force India notice period”.

28-year-old Kovalainen’s was the fourteenth fastest race lap in Monaco
Lotus is almost ready to begin fighting with F1′s established teams, according to Heikki Kovalainen. The Malaysian backed outfit has been the most impressive of the sport’s three new entrants this year, particularly in the wake of a recent upgrade for the T127 car.

The Maxis logo was seen on the front nose assembly in Kuala Lumpur
Lotus is expected to shortly confirm a new sponsorship deal with Maxis, a leading Malaysian mobile network. The logo of the Kuala Lumpur based company, whose headquarters is the impressive Maxis Tower near the Petronas Twin Towers, was seen on the front nose of the green T127 car at an event on Tuesday.
