In last two rounds of Rally America season
Reigning Canadian and North American Rally Champions Antoine L’Estage (of St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Qc) and Nathalie Richard (of Halifax, Nova Scotia) will contest the final two rounds of the Rally America series in an Open Class 2010 Subaru Impreza WRX STI, via support from Subaru and John Buffum’s Vermont-based Libra Racing shop.

Mikkelsen heads close battle for Corsica IRC glory
Intercontinental Rally Challenge champion Andreas Mikkelsen leads Giru di Corsica-Tour de Corse following the opening three stages around Ajaccio this afternoon. However, with 2.8s covering the leading drivers, Mikkelsen has a big fight on his hands in his bid to win his first IRC event on asphalt and extend his title advantage.

Mitsubishi leads Manufacturers Championship With Convincing Win at Perce-Neige.The 47th running of Rallye Perce-Neige, the first round of the 2012 Canadian Rally Championship, was won by Antoine L’Estage of St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Quebec and co-driver Nathalie Richard of Halifax, in their new Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution.
Kopecky and Stary will be anxious to avoid a repeat of last year’s Sata Rallye Acores
Co-driver Petr Stary will make his comeback from injury on Sata Rallye Acores, the sixth round of the Intercontinental Rally Challenge, which starts in Ponta Delgada on the island of Sao Miguel this afternoon (14 July).
Skoda Auto Deutschland will enter a brace of Fabia Super 2000s on selected rounds of this year’s IRC
Seven-time German champion Matthias Kahle, 42, and rising star Mark Wallenwein, 24, will contest Barum Czech Rally Zlin in late August followed by the Mecsek Rallye in Hungary in mid-September. Kahle will also take part on RACMSA Rally of Scotland in October and the season-closing Cyprus Rally, where Wallenwein could return to the line-up in a second entry.
First in Canadian Champiopnship
The Subaru team of Patrick Richard and co-driver Alan Ockwell took second place in the 2010 Rallye Defi. Even though the team pushed hard and won half the competitive stages, they were never able to close the time deficit after a flat tire early in the race. The victory went to Antoine L’Estage and co-driver Nathalie Richard.
Lombardi Honda Racing ready for the grand finale…
It’s this weekend at the ICAR racing track in Mirabel, that the final double-header of the Canadian Touring Championship season will be held. Leading the championship since June, Nick Wittmer plans to do everything possible to claim his second consecutive title at the wheel of his Lombardi Honda Racing Honda Civic Si. For the Montreal team, which also includes Benjamin Distaulo (looking for his first podium in the series), this outing is their opportunity to earn their second title in as many years competing in the series.
And the Compact Autosport Team in Rallye Sanair
Driving a Mini Cooper S for the Compact Autosport team, Joël Levac of Rivière-Beaudette, co-driven by Stéphanie Lewis, earned the team’s first ever overall victory at this weekend’s round of the Québec Rally Championship, the Rallye Sanair presented by Pole-Position Magazine and Subaru. It also marks the first North American Rally overall competition win for a Mini since 2002.
