The DAMS driver now enjoys a twenty-five point lead over the Brazilian as the paddock flies to its last event of the 2012 season.

David Valsecchi kept his countrymen smiling by claiming the second Italian win of the weekend with a commanding drive in this morning’s sprint race in Monza, controlling the pace and his rivals to ease home ahead of Fabio Leimer and Jolyon Palmer.

Max Chilton has opened his weekend in fine style by setting the pace in this morning’s free practice session in Monza, leading from the front as he put himself at the top of the timesheets for most of the session and finishing four tenths ahead of Felipe Nasr and Luca Filippi.
The title race is on!
Last week in Spa, the tenth round of the 2012 GP2 Series™ season was not short of action and drama. It was a weekend of firsts: Rio Haryanto surprised the rest of the field and stormed to a maiden pole position. On the Saturday, it was Marcus Ericsson’s turn to shine as he pocketed his first win of the season whilst on the following day Josef Kral finally enjoyed a maiden GP2 victory.
The Belgian round of GP2 in Spa-Francorchamps was the last one together for Scuderia Coloni and Stefano Coletti.
As the objectives that had been set at the start of the season were not met, the team and the Monegasque driver agreed to part ways.
