Young Canadian wins his first sports car endeavor

Before this year, driver David Ostella had never raced anything other than karts or formula cars. The Toronto-native graduated through the ranks of karting, Formula BMW, Star Mazda, and two years in Firestone Indy Lights. But just a few short months ago Ostella decided to try his hand at sports car racing and take on historic Sebring International Raceway for the Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Fueled by Fresh From Florida in the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón.







TrueCar, Inc., creators of the intelligent automotive marketplace that benefits both buyers and sellers, has announced the addition ofKatherine Legge to their 2012 TrueCar Racing Team – signing the former Atlantics, ChampCar and DTM star to a multi-year IZOD IndyCar Series sponsorship agreement with Dragon Racing.












AIM Autosport’s Star Mazda team opened it’s season last weekend in St. Petersburg where, despite achieving race results that fell short of expectations, the outfit was happy to see good potential for the season ahead. Eighteen-year-old Zack Meyer (#66) finished twelfth, while Expert Class (for drivers over 30) competitors Larry Pegram (#72 Foremost Insurance Group/Tampa Bay Jaw Surgery) and Walt Bowlin (#23 Tampa Bay Jaw Surgery) finished second and third in class, respectively. 






The Firestone Indy Lights, Star Mazda and USF2000 seasons are over for 2010, but Andersen Racing is busy this week giving five drivers the opportunity to test cars on two different steps on the Road to Indy. The team, which is based at Andersen RacePark in Palmetto, Fla., and sponsored by Allied Building Products Corp., is conducting the tests at Sebring International Raceway in Sebring, Fla. 
Conor Daly, will test with Manor Motorsport and Status Grand Prix at the upcoming GP3 winter test session’s at Estoril, Portugal, October 13th – 14th and Jerez, Spain, Oct 20th – 21st. After his record setting Star Mazda season, Daly is exploring what might be the next best move for his professional career. It will be his first time in a GP3 car, but from what he learned attending the final rounds of the 2010 championship in Monza Italy, in September, Daly very much looks forward to his upcoming experiences.
Junior formula car drivers who want to step up their game in 2011 can get the new season off to a rousing start by competing in the $25,000 Cooper Tires Winterfest, a special five-race series in Florida this coming January organized by the “Cooper Tires Presents the USF2000 National Championship Powered by Mazda.”
Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières revealed the out race’s activities’ schedule standing the Grand Prix’s weekend during a press conference on July 20th 2010. Some novelties have been announced and will embellish the race’s schedule for this 41st edition of the Grand Prix.
