Replacing Jarno Trulli with immediate effect
Caterham F1 Team has today announced that Vitaly Petrov has joined the team as race driver, replacing Jarno Trulli with immediate effect. The Russian was at the Anglo-Malaysian team’s factory in Hingham on Friday 17th February for a seat fitting ahead of his first run with the team at the second pre-season test in Barcelona, 21st to 24th February.

Tony Fernandes and fellow shareholders Kamarudin Meranun and SM Nasarudin have confirmed that with immediate effect Riad Asmat has been promoted Group CEO of Team Lotus, Caterham Cars, Caterham Team AirAsia, merchandising, engineering and all related interests.

Team Lotus can keep current name for F1
Team Lotus is very happy that the court case concerning the rights to the Team Lotus name has today come to a positive conclusion and that the team can now focus its full attention on its long-term challenge for honours on and off track. The decision confirms that Team Lotus is the true owner of the full Team Lotus name and the iconic roundel, establishing in law that the Anglo-Malaysian team is the rightful heir to Team Lotus and all associated goodwill.

Providing Team Lotus with tools and garage equipment
Rodac International, worldwide supplier of pneumatic equipment to the automotive industry, has concluded a sponsor agreement with the Team Lotus Formula One team. For the next three years Rodac provides Team Lotus with tools and garage equipment which makes Rodac an official supplier to the Anglo- Malaysian F1 team.

Ex-Prime Minister of Malaysia conducted the official opening of the factory in Hingham, Norfolk.
Malaysia’s longest serving Prime Minister, and one of Asia’s most influential political figures, was joined by Lotus Racing Team Principal Tony Fernandes, Deputy Team Principals Kamarudin Meranun and SM Nasarudin and Chief Technical Officer Mike Gascoyne for the official ceremony to declare the factory open.
