Simona De Silvestro and the Team Stargate Worlds/HVM Racing crew were eager to begin the Honda Indy Edmonton on a positive note in her quest for the 2010 “Rookie of the Year” award. As the green flag dropped Simona immediately picked up a position and by lap # 7 she had a 2.3 second gap between her and the 7th spot of E.J. Viso.

Canadian driver Alex Tagliani of the FAZZT race team is ready for the race weekend to take off on the 3.154 km temporary street course that is the Edmonton City Centre Airport circuit, for the third IZOD IndyCar Series sanctioned running of the Honda Indy Edmonton and the second of two consecutive races on Canadian soil.
Following a race contact, Alex Tagliani ends up 17th in Toronto
Justin Wilson had it all in his corner with 20 laps left in the Honda Indy Toronto: Firestone alternate tires on the No. 22 Z-Line Designs car, plenty of ethanol in the tank and a 3.1-second lead over Team Penske’s Will Power.
Tagliani posted third best time
Scott Dixon was quickest in opening practice for this weekend’s Honda Indy Toronto IndyCar street race, despite tangling with Takuma Sato at the end of the hour. Contact between Dixon and Sato at Turn 6 resulted in the KV car spin around in front of Dixon’s Ganassi Dallara and come to a halt blocking it. The following Bertrand Baguette (Conquest) then slid into the rear of Dixon’s car in the traffic jam.
His second of the 2010 season
Ryan Briscoe claimed his second pole position of 2010 in qualifying for the IndyCar Series’ Texas night race. The Penske driver’s speed of 215.273mph held on despite strong challenges from Ganassi’s Dario Franchitti and points leader Will Power (Penske), who completed the top three.
