Sébastien Loeb is without question the number 1 of international rallying, as confirmed by the 2012 world rally ranking WRR (World Rally Ranking) promoted by the IRDA (International Rally Drivers Association), the first place is always occupied by the French driver, in second place the Finnish Mikko Hirvonen, the podium is completed by Norvegian Andreas Mikkelsen.

The race for Intercontinental Rally Challenge glory will reach its climax on the Cyprus Rally from 2-4 November.

With a history dating back to 1970, the mixed-surface event lists a host of illustrious former winners including Stig Blomqvist, Sébastien Loeb, Colin McRae, Ari Vatanen and Björn Wåldegard. Since its inclusion on the IRC calendar for the first time in 2010, Nasser Al-Attiyah and Andreas Mikkelsen have both enjoyed success.

It’s an interesting stage because some parts are narrow and slow and after it is very, very fast. It’s a good, good stage but again you have the problem if you are first on the road because you are cleaning the road and it really is not easy and the others are trying to push.”
