In 2012 Starworks Motorsport entered the history books by becoming the first LMP2 Champions in the FIA World Endurance Championship
Allan McNish, Alex Popow, Ryan Dalziel and Sébastien Bourdais will pilot the #8 Starworks Motorsport Riley-Ford Daytona Prototype at the 51st Grand-Am Rolex 24 at Daytona International Speedway on 26-27 January 2013.

More than 25 drivers with formula one experience will be on the grid at this weekend’s 80th running of the fabled 24 hour Le Mans race.
Near the front, in the premier LMP1 prototype class, will be Allan McNish and Marc Gene, driving for Audi. Scot McNish raced in F1 with Toyota in 2002, while Gene drove for Minardi and is still a Ferrari test driver. Toyota has since left F1 and for 2012 has entered Le Mans, and the Japanese marque’s number 8 entry is a grand prix-superteam featuring Anthony Davidson (Super Aguri), Sebastien Buemi (Toro Rosso) and one-off 1999 Minardi driver Stephane Sarrazin.

Second straight pole position for Peugeot’s British ace
Seeking a third straight victory at Road Atlanta, Team Peugeot Total is on pole position again for the 14th annual Petit Le Mans powered by Mazda. Anthony Davidson set a blistering 1:07.428 (135.611 mph) lap in qualifying Friday in the diesel-powered Peugeot 908 coupe that he will drive in Saturday’s 1,000-mile/10-hour race with Sébastien Bourdais and Simon Pagenaud.

In Intercontinental Le Mans Cup 1000km of Zhuhai
Team Peugeot Total produced a blend of panache and suspense to round off the 908 HDi FAP’s career with a resounding victory in Sunday’s 1000km of Zhuhai (southeast China). After monopolising the front row of the grid at the start, the two cars succeeded in dominating the early part of the race before coming under pressure themselves.

Jaime Alguersuari is happy with the performance of his formula one employer.
Toro Rosso is just eighth in the 2010 world championship with 8 points, ahead only of Sauber and F1′s three new teams. But rookie Alguersuari, who made his debut at short notice to replace the struggling Sebastien Bourdais mid last year, insists the Faenza based outfit is the “best team of people”.

”We couldn’t have done better” – Quesnel
For the fourth time in as many years a Peugeot 908 HDi FAP takes pole for tomorrow’s 78th 24 Heures du Mans, with the team’s three cars occupying the first three places just ahead of Team Oreca’s Peugeot in fourth. Changeable weather on the second day of qualifying prevented a new battle for the top spot but allowed Team Peugeot Total to concentrate on perfecting their set up in preparation for Saturday’s 15h00 start.

Preview Le Mans 24 Hours (June 6-13, 2010)
On the momentum of its one-two finish at Le Mans this time last year, Peugeot is on the hunt for a second straight win in the prestigious French competition. Twelve months of hard preparation work since June 2009 have kept the team under pressure in its bid to secure repeat success on this uniquely popular event which attracts more than 250,000 spectators annually.

Jaime Alguersuari has indicated he risked losing his F1 seat this year due to “problems” between Toro Rosso and Red Bull. In between the 2009 and 2010 seasons, it was strongly rumoured the Faenza based team was considering replacing the then teenage Spaniard with a pay-driver.

Sebastien Bourdais has admitted he is unlikely to ever return to the formula one grid.
The Frenchman, who was ousted by Toro Rosso mid-way through the 2009 season, now races in the Superleague series and a Peugeot in Le Mans races. He arrived in F1 in 2008, after establishing himself as the dominant driver of the now defunct American open wheeler series Champ Car.

Cautious approach pays off for Toro Rosso’s engines
Giancarlo Fisichella was not the only F1 driver in action at the Vairano circuit in Italy last week. While Ferrari reserve Fisichella was trying Ferrari’s updated F-duct solution and the Barcelona package, the other Italian based team Toro Rosso was also conducting an aerodynamic straight line test.

Wurz/Gene/Davidson give French marque first Sebring victory
Alexander Wurz’s outlap after his final stop was quick enough for an overall victory for himself and Team Peugeot Total teammates Marc Gene and Anthony Davidson. Wurz drove his diesel-powered Peugeot 908 HDi FAP to a 13.817-second win at the 58th Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring presented by Fresh from Florida, a first in the event for the famed French marque.
The number of former IndyCar or Champ Car Champions at this year’s Armor All Gold Coast 600 has increased to four with Brad Jones Racing confirming Tony Kanaan as part of their squad for this year’s October 21-23 event.
