17th Annual Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame Induction Gala
Paul Cooke and four Canadian Karting World Champions were honoured last Saturday in Toronto at the 17th Annual Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame Gala held at the prestigious Inn On The Park Conference Centre in Toronto attended by over three hundred motor sport and business leaders that included Bobby Rahal as the keynote speaker.

Return on an unbelievable Sunday
As you already know, yesterday was a wonderful day for Team Canada when Scott Campbell and Daniel Morad won the world title in their category. Because of the short time we had at the end of this long Sunday to prepare our daily report, we prepared a longer one today with more details.

End of the prelimary round
Today was very important for the drivers at the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals. Drivers had to race in their third and last heat race and, for those who will not qualify directly for the final round, in the Second chance race in the Rotax Max Junior, Rotax Max and DD2 classes.

Qualifying heats
Drivers had to race in two qualifying heats today. Like yesterday, some of our drivers had a good day, some others not. In the Junior class, Nicholas Latifi continued his good job when he got a 6th and a 4th place finish. For Garett Grist, he must battle a lot in every heat because the competition in the middle of the pack is crazy.

Two Canadian on pole!
The day was very special for Team Canada for many reasons. We will first start with the good news. Scott Campbell got the pole in the DD2 Masters class, being the only driver with a laptime under 50 seconds while Luc Sauriol took the 10th spot. In the DD2 class, Daniel Morad was just unbelievable on the track when he entered the track on the last session of the day and had to drive under the spotlights!

McCaughan grabs Sportsmanship
Final day of racing action sees Wheeler take Rotax Senior Max title and final invite to Team Canada as McCaughan grabs Sportsmanship Award. The Western Canadian Challenge (WCC) continued to be blessed with great racing and fantastic weather. The summer prairie sun was hot all day as temperatures neared the 30-degree Celsius mark by mid afternoon under clear blue skies.

This year expect good results with Frank Launi, Daniel Morad, Scott Campbell, Darren White and Kyle Stevens.
Once again, Team Canada will be in force in the DD2 class, not only because of the number of drivers (5), but by the quality of the drivers. Last year, two Canadian drivers in DD2 finished in the top 7 (Pier-Luc Ouellette 2nd, and Christophe Boisclair 7th) while Scott Campbell and Darren White also qualified for the final round.
Scott Campbell assured his 6th participation at the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Final with a win and a second place in the last round of the Gatorz – Challenge of the Americas held last weekend in Fontana, California.
