Valencia to be Spain’s only F1 race – reports
Valencia will be the only Spanish date on next year’s formula one calendar.
That was the claim on Tuesday of Radio Valencia as well as Cadena SER, the premier Spanish radio network. The reports said Valencia, the Spanish port city and host of last Sunday’s European grand prix, will take on the mantle of the Spanish grand prix in 2012 and beyond.

Organisers of the European grand prix would like an earlier date on formula one calendars of the future. The streets of the Spanish port city Valencia hosted last weekend’s race, the ninth round of the original 2011 schedule and the fourth in Europe.

Organisers of the European grand prix at Valencia are desperately trying to offload the race contract to an alternate host. That is the claim of the Spanish newspaper El Periodico, reporting that regional president Francisco Camps has determined that the port city cannot afford the annual fee and organisation costs.
The mayoress of Valencia has all but confirmed reports the Spanish port city will host a common car launch for F1 teams at the end of January.
