21 year-old from Brazil
After Sten Pentus another newcomer will join Auto GP World Series in Valencia, it’s Yann Cunha, who will drive the #23 entry of Ombra Racing on the Spanish track. A 21 year-old from Brazil, Cunha has been a strong F3 contender in the last few seasons, clinching wins both in South America and in Europe.

A 1-2 for Mücke at Valencia – Roberto Merhi third in first race
Marco Wittmann (Signature) claimed victory in the second race of the Formula 3 Euro Series at the 4.005 kilometres long Ricardo Tormo circuit. The German crossed the finish line ahead of second-placed Kimiya Sato (Motopark) and Daniel Juncadella (Prema Powerteam), who finished third.

Perez admitted his objective is to race for Ferrari one day.
Ferrari had high praise for Sergio Perez after the Mexican on Thursday tested one of the Italian team’s single seaters for the first time. A race rookie with Sauber in 2011, 21-year-old Perez is also a leading member of Ferrari’s driver ‘academy’ and tipped as a possible future replacement for Felipe Massa.

Cosworth-powered AT&T Williams and Marussia Virgin Racing entries unveiled
Cosworth has today attended the launch of the all-new Marussia Virgin Racing MVR-02 race car which took place at BBC Television Centre in London. The reveal of the Cosworth-powered MVR-02 today comes one week after the launch of the AT&T Williams FW33 which has seen Cosworth work closely with Williams to fully integrate the CA engine with Williams’ own KERS system, creating a new version of the 2.4 litre V8 engine to be designated CA2011k.

There were no bold statements at Valencia after Tuesday’s opening day of pre-season testing. The usually furtive 2010 runner-up Fernando Alonso tested at the wheel of Ferrari’s new F150 and claimed to have not even looked at reigning champion Red Bull’s 2011 challenger.

Williams will likely have an “interim car” at the test rather than the new FW33
Five teams are likely to have not yet launched their 2011 cars by the time of the opening pre-season group test beginning 1 February. That is the claim of Germany’s Auto Motor und Sport, contradicting other reports that said Williams and Lotus will be ready with their new single seaters at Cheste’s Ricardo Tormo circuit near Valencia early next month.
The low-key unveiling will take place on the morning of the first day of pre-season group testing at Valencia’s Ricardo Tormo circuit in Spain. 
A spokesman for the Faenza based team said earlier this month that the STR6 is scheduled to be up and running “for the first test in Valencia” on 1 February.
