Timo Glock has counted himself out of this year’s driver ‘silly season’.
Theoretically, there are 2013 race seats up for grabs at teams including grandees Ferrari, McLaren and Mercedes. But Timo Glock, whose career has floundered at the back of the grid since Toyota pulled out of the sport three years ago, suggested to German website motorsport-total.com that he remains committed to Marussia.

Bruno Senna is considering Nascar as a back-up option should his F1 journey end for now.
That is the claim of the Italiaracing website, in the wake of the Brazilian’s loss of his Renault/Lotus race seat. It is rumoured Senna, 28, could return to the team’s reserve role for 2012, but Italiaracing said Nascar is another option, where his countryman Nelson Piquet Jr headed after his own F1 career foundered in 2009.

Vitaly Petrov’s manager has devised a “plan B and plan C” in the event the Russian has already raced his last grand prix with Renault/Lotus.
Petrov has a valid contract for next season, but his manager Oksana Kosachenko rushed to Enstone this week for urgent talks, revealing that it is possible the 27-year-old is set to leave the team.

Team co-founder Patrick Head is “pretty certain” Pastor Maldonado will stay with Williams for a second season in 2012.
The Venezuelan’s seat was until recently considered secure due to his lucrative backing by the state-owned oil company PDVSA. But that money is now in doubt, with the Venezuelan parliament looking into whether the Williams deal went through the necessary approval processes.

Five formula one teams are yet to complete their driver lineups for the 2012 season, the FIA confirmed this week.
The provisional entry list for next season shows vacancies at Renault/Lotus, Force India, Toro Rosso and Williams. And confirmation of the drivers is not the only element missing at HRT, with the presently Cosworth-powered Spanish team also yet to announce its engine supplier.

Sebastian Vettel has admitted it is “difficult to judge” whether his friend Kimi Raikkonen will be at full speed when he returns to formula one next season. The pair often meet near their Swiss homes to play badminton, but reigning world champion Vettel does not want to predict a smooth comeback for the 2007 world champion after two years in world rally.

Renault/Lotus team signs Raikkonen for F1 return
Lotus Renault GP is pleased to announce that Kimi Räikkönen will race for the team next season. The 2007 World Champion, who left Formula 1 at the end of 2009 to pursue a career in rallying, has decided to make a comeback at the pinnacle of single-seater racing. He has now signed a two-year agreement with Lotus Renault GP.

Kubica’s hand surgeon Igor Rossello suggested that the new surgery is relatively minor.
The likelihood of an early 2012 return to the Lotus (currently Renault) team for Robert Kubica appears to have receded even further. The Italian daily La Gazzetta dello Sport reported on Thursday that the Polish driver, who has already undergone five operations since his February rally crash, is scheduled to have more surgery in the coming days.

Mercedes team boss Brawn suggested it is not right that rival teams have a say.
Ross Brawn has called upon rival teams to stop asking for “favours” before helping Renault and Team Lotus to change their names for 2012. Because name changes are generally frowned upon by the sport’s officials, the Renault/Lotus issue has been referred to a meeting of the F1 Commission early next month.

Robert Kubica could be about to find himself free of his Renault contract, according to an Italian media report. Group Lotus is reportedly looking to get involved with the Enstone based team in a EUR 60 million deal that could involve the outfit being renamed Lotus-Renault in 2011 and beyond.
