Robert Kubica will continue his push for racing fitness by stepping up to the wheel of a full world rally-spec Citroen C4 for two forthcoming minor rallies (Rally di Coma and Rallye du Var). “I can’t wait to drive a car that is as quick and has been as successful as the C4 WRC,” said the former BMW and Renault driver, who was seriously injured in a rally crash in February 2011.

Permission to contest rallies is crucial at this stage of Robert Kubica’s formula one career, his manager has confirmed. Following the contractual restrictions during his time with BMW-Sauber, the Pole has enjoyed contesting a range of formative rallies since switching to Renault in 2010.

Monte Carlo will be Kubica’s fourth rally.
Robert Kubica will contest the famous Monte Carlo Rally later this month, Polish news sources are reporting. The 25-year-old Pole, who will race in F1 this season with Renault, is to pilot a Renault Clio R3 alongside co-driver Jakubem Gerberem in the January 19-23 event.

Amid the more unfamiliar faces at this week’s Jerez test, Robert Kubica was a conspicuous presence on the Renault pitwall. The Polish driver, who has signed to switch from BMW-Sauber to the French team in 2010, travelled to the Spanish circuit on Wednesday in the wake of his participation in the recent Rallye du Var.

Formula One star and rally fan Robert Kubica will drive for the Renault F1 team in 2010
He has been tipped for a pre-season taster with the French squad later this month, when he is expected to drive a Clio R3 on France’s Rallye du Var. The French Championship asphalt rally runs for three days from November 26-29 in the Cote d’Azur, and is a favourite of World Rally Champion Sebastien Loeb, who won it in 2000.
French driver Pierre Campana, who is managed by Quadra Sports, will compete on the Rallye du Var from November 27-29: the final round of the French Rally Championship. 
Mark Webber will test the car of his new GP3 team MW Arden, a collaboration with Red Bull boss Christian Horner, on 17 November at Paul Ricard.
