To help the victims of the people of Japan in the aftermath of the recent tsunami
A charity run to help the victims of the people of Japan in the aftermath of the recent tsunami has raised more than 1000 Euros. Drivers, co-drivers and teams from the Intercontinental Rally Challenge plus members of the media and the IRC and Rally Islas Canarias organising teams each paid five Euros to take part in the run on the Las Canteras beach prior to the start of the island event.

Magny Cours’ new boss is positioning the French circuit for a possible return to the formula one calendar. The venue, and the country, fell out of the sport after the 2008 season, and attempts to revive the French grand prix at an alternate site have failed so far.

Preview Le Mans 24 Hours (June 6-13, 2010)
On the momentum of its one-two finish at Le Mans this time last year, Peugeot is on the hunt for a second straight win in the prestigious French competition. Twelve months of hard preparation work since June 2009 have kept the team under pressure in its bid to secure repeat success on this uniquely popular event which attracts more than 250,000 spectators annually.

Peugeot Sport confirmed Monday its entry to the 58th Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring presented by Fresh from Florida with two diesel-powered factory Peugeot 908 HDi FAPs. It will mark the third straight year that Peugeot has contested the Sebring classic in central Florida.

Peugeot Sport has finally decided to provide Team ORECA MATMUT with a car. The motor sport record of the Hugues de Chaunac-directed operation provides clear evidence of the team’s skill and professionalism, while the team has provided assurances of its ability to source the necessary funding to enter a 2010-specification 908 HDi FAP in the Le Mans 24 Hours and in the Le Mans Series.

Last week saw Peugeot Sport organise a test session with the 908 HDi FAP at the new Motorland circuit in Aragon, Spain
The drivers present at this test were Sébastien Bourdais, Marc Gené, Franck Montagny, Alexander Wurz and Sébastien Loeb. Sébastien Loeb made an active contribution to the test which formed part of a programme leading up to a possible participation for the Frenchman in the 2010 Le Mans 24 Hours, given that there is no WRC round scheduled the same weekend.

At Road Atlanta in a shortened race
Franck Montagny and Stephane Sarrazin gave Peugeot its first American Le Mans Series victory on Saturday, winning a weather-shortened 12th annual Petit Le Mans powered by MAZDA6. Race officials, citing hazardous conditions due to torrential rains that fell at Road Atlanta just past the four-hour mark, called the race at eight hours, 44 minutes running.

Peugeot Sport began flexing its muscles Thursday morning with the top two spots during the day’s first official practice session for Petit Le Mans powered by MAZDA6. Stephane Sarrazin was the quickest driver around Road Atlanta with a lap of 1:08.138 in the diesel-powered Peugeot 908 HDi that he will drive with Franck Montagny.

Peugeot and Sarrazin claim a third consecutive pole-position at Le Mans
This evening’s thrilling qualifying session saw Team Peugeot Total’s Stéphane Sarrazin put the N°8 Peugeot 908 HDi FAP (Sarrazin/Montagny/Bourdais) at the sharp end of the grid for the Le Mans 24 Hours for the third year in a row.

Peugeot Sport came to the United States to gain experience
37 cars at the start, 11 safety car interventions, 394 laps of the exacting, hilly American circuit, temperatures in excess of 30°C… and just 4.512 seconds in it at the flag between the only Peugeot 908 HDi FAP present and the N°1 Audi which finally took the spoils at Road Atlanta.
In parallel to its 2010 race programme with the 908 HDi FAP, Peugeot Sport has been busy designing and developing the prototype that will defend its colours in 2011.
