ŠKODA pilot secures sixth triumph in Sliven despite late charge by Peugeot ace Gyoshev
Dimitar Iliev, in a ŠKODA Fabia Super 2000, has made it seven different winners in this season’s all-action Intercontinental Rally Challenge with victory on the Mabanol Sliven Rally in Bulgaria today, his sixth on the high-speed asphalt event.

Intercontinental Rally Challenge, round 9 of 11
Thierry Neuville has won Rallye Sanremo following a thrilling finish to the Intercontinental Rally Challenge round on the Italian Riviera this afternoon. Driving a Team Peugeot Belgium-Luxembourg 207 Super 2000, Neuville surged ahead on the demanding asphalt event with one stage remaining, having cancelled out an overnight deficit of 16.6s.

Sata Rallye Acores is set for a thrilling final-day showdown after Andreas Mikkelsen slashed Juho Hanninen’s overall lead to 1.3s. The SKODA UK Motorsport driver began the closing loop of three stages 10.1s behind the defending Intercontinental Rally Challenge champion but edged into contention with a hat trick of fastest stage times on the tricky gravel event, which has been full of drama from the outset.

Juho Hanninen has completed the opening day of Sata Rallye Acores with a lead of 4.3s over last year’s winner Bruno Magalhaes. Hanninen, the defending Intercontinental Rally Challenge champion, snatched first place from Andreas Mikkelsen when the Norwegian was slowed on stage two with powersteering failure, and extended his advantage at the wheel of his SKODA Motorsport Fabia Super 2000 with the fastest time on the day-closing superspecial stage in front of several thousand fans.

Peugeot ace takes maiden IRC triumph
Eurosport shows 12 epic stages live. Bryan Bouffier got his Intercontinental Rally Challenge title campaign off to the best possible start by winning the centenary edition of Rallye Monte-Carlo, which finished in Monaco’s harbour front in the early hours of Saturday morning following three day’s of intense competition shown live on Eurosport.

Leg Two report: Rally d’Italia-Sardegna, 4-6 June, 2010
Juho Hanninen has strengthened his grip on the Intercontinental Rally Challenge drivers’ title with his second victory of the season on Rally d’Italia-Sardegna today (Sunday). Driving a factory Skoda Motorsport-run Fabia, the Finn took a slender lead on the rally’s ninth stage and pulled clear when Kris Meeke, his closest pursuer, crashed heavily on stage 10. The accident was captured live on Eurosport, which covered four stages of the sun-coated gravel event as they happened.
At the prestigious Rali Vinho da Madeira, the reigning European champion, Luca Rossetti, will travel to the Portuguese island to defend his leading position in the European ranking. 
French star Pierre Campana finished third of the S2000 cars on the Lyon Charbonnieres Rally this weekend, on his four-wheel drive debut in the French Rally Championship.
