Rebellion’s Neel Jani, Andrea Belicchi and Nicolas Prost won the 1,000-mile race for the first time with a three-lap victory in their Lola-Toyota on a day filled with drama at Road Atlanta.

The Swiss driver took pole position for Rebellion Racing with a lap of 1:09.089 (132.351 mph) in his No. 12 Lola-Toyota coupe – the first honor in ALMS for the Swiss team.

With his Porsche 911 GT3 RSR, Joerg Bergmeister takes up the 1,000 mile race in Road Atlanta on Saturday from position five on the grid. In qualifying for Petit Le Mans, the final round of the American Le Mans Series, the Porsche works driver from Germany was only eight-tenths of a second shy of the top GT-class time on the storied circuit in the US state of Georgia.

Anthony Davidson set a blistering 1:07.428 (135.611 mph) lap in qualifying Friday in the diesel-powered Peugeot 908 coupe that he will drive in Saturday’s 1,000-mile/10-hour race with Sébastien Bourdais and Simon Pagenaud.

Petit Le Mans, the second round of the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup, did not provide the result that either Benoît Tréluyer or the Audi team were hoping for.
