Toronto’s James Hinchcliffe, 23, was chosen as Overall Canadian Racer of the Year
Brantford, Ont.’s Jordan Szoke added more hardware to an already impressive 2010 trophy haul on Saturday night. The winner of the Parts Canada Superbike Championship was presented with the Inside Track Readers’ Choice Award as Canadian Motorcycle Racer of the Year at the Canadian Motorsports Expo at Toronto’s International Centre.

New dates for three marquee events
Mosport International Raceway announced its 2011 major event schedule today. The six-event line-up will once again feature the only Canadian stop for North America’s premiere sports car championship, the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) presented by Tequila Patrón, as well as two rounds for both the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series and the Parts Canada Superbike Championship.

The 31-year-old rider is in position to lock up a record seventh Canadian Superbike crown at the 2.56km (1.6-mile) road course near Halifax.

He was involved in a scary crash last year
Rising Canadian road racing star Jodi Christie has fond memories of Mosport International Raceway, even though he has every excuse to hate the place. At last year’s round of the Parts Canada Superbike Championship on the fabled 3.9km (2.459-mile) circuit Christie suffered a high speed crash in turn two.

Jordan Szoke completed a perfect weekend at Calgary’s Race City Motorsport Park with victory in Sunday’s third round of the Parts Canada Superbike Championship, presented by Rocky Mountain Honda Powerhouse. The Brantford, Ont. racer took the lead on the opening lap and was unchallenged the rest of the way to score his second victory in two days on the Waznie Racing / BMC Cicloe Werks / DeWildt Honda Powerhouse Honda CBR1000RR, and his third straight to open the 2010 season.

The six-time national Superbike champion took his Waznie Racing / Ciclo Werks BMC / DeWildt Honda Powerhouse Honda CBR1000RR to a 3.052-sec. victory over St-Cesaire, Que.’s Kevin Lacombe riding the Lacombe Racing Suzuki GSX-R1000.

After struggling in the morning session with engine management problems
Jordan Szoke overcame engine issues to set fastest time in testing for this weekend’s second and third rounds of the Parts Canada Superbike Championship, presented by Rocky Mountain Honda Powerhouse, at Race City Motorsport Park on Thursday.
Jordan Szoke clinched his fifth straight Parts Canada Superbike Championship and seventh career national title in style with a victory in the penultimate round of the series at Atlantic Motorsport Park on Saturday.
