Scuderia Coloni and Luca Filippi will race together also in the last round of the GP2 season, scheduled for 21-23 September in Singapore.
After experiencing an amazing weekend in Monza, where Luca and the team clinched a dominant win in Race 1, Scuderia Coloni will again boast an all-italian line-up with Filippi and Onidi for the Asian round, an event that will see GP2 race on the Singapore street circuit for the first time.

Scuderia Coloni and Luca Filippi will be back together for the Monza GP2 round.
The pair that dominated the second part of 2011, with three wins out of four events that paved the way for a 2nd place in the drivers’ championship, will hence reunite for their home race, the same event that last year saw Luca and the team clinch a great win in the Feature Race.

Precisely 30 years ago, on 18 January 1982, Coloni Motorsport was born.
The story of the Italian team is a really successful one, starting right from that first season that saw the team clinch his first drivers title in the Italian F3 Championship with Enzo Coloni himself at the wheel, and still keeping momentum today with the three wins the team secured in the 2011 GP2 season.

As the line-up for the 2012 GP2 season
Scuderia Coloni defined their 2012 line-up, with Stefano Coletti and Fabio Onidi taking the driving duties for the coming GP2 Season. Both were confirmed by the Italian squad’s Team Principal, Paolo Coloni, after their convincing showings during the winter time: Stefano and Fabio respectively claimed the top spots in the official testing in Barcelona and Jerez, and Coletti then raced with the team in the Abu Dhabi GP2 Finale, again boasting some impressive performances.

The amazing 2011 season keeps bringing gratifications to Scuderia Coloni: last Saturday the team received Autosprint’s Golden Helmet Award, the most important motorsport-related prize in Italy (and the one with the longest tradition, as it was first awarded more than 40 years ago).

Racing Engineering ace quickest on final day
The last 2011 post-season test day took place today at Circuit de Catalunya. The paddock welcomed two new faces for the occasion, namely Pole Kuba Giermaziak at iSport and Spaniard Albert Costa at Super Nova Racing. GP2 race winner Giacomo Ricci returned to the field at Super Nova, GP3 2011 runner-up James Calado rejoined Lotus ART, and Sam Bird tested again with Trident Racing.

And in the Abu Dhabi GP2 finale
Scuderia Coloni and Kevin Ceccon will keep working together: the team which was the class of the GP2 field in the second half of the season and the Italian young talent will continue their cooperation both in the upcoming Barcelona test (20-21 October) and in the GP2 Finale that will be held in Abu Dhabi on November 12-13, on the famed Yas Marina Circuit.

Racing Engineering driver once again quickest on final day
The final session of a two-day 2011 post-season test took place today at Circuito de Jerez. Twenty-six drivers sat behind the wheel of the GP2/11 car. While Arden International, Scuderia Coloni and Super Nova Racing did not change their line-up for today, the other teams welcomed new faces, including newcomers Rupert Svendsen-Cook at Racing Engineering, GP3 graduate Tom Dillmann at Barwa Addax, Giovanni Venturini at Dams, and Yuki Shiraishi at Ocean Racing Technology.

Racing Engineering driver quickest in Jerez post-season test
The first 2011 post-season testing opened today at Circuito de Jerez under clear blue skies, warm temperatures and in slightly windy conditions. Today’s entry list comprised of a total of twenty-seven drivers who ran around the Spanish track on Pirelli P Zero hard compounds for this first day.

Two days of test in Jerez
The GP2 season ended just 10 days ago with the Monza weekend, but for Scuderia Coloni it’s already time to get back on track. The Italian team had really little time to celebrate Luca Filippi’s second place in the GP2 standings, as the whole staff started working at full steam immediately after the home race in order to make the cars ready for the Jerez test, due to start tomorrow.

Scuderia Coloni confirms Filippi for Spa
After recharging their batteries during the August holidays the staff is already at work to arrive in top shape in Spa-Francorchamps, the first of the season’s final two rounds, as well as the drivers: Scuderia Coloni has confirmed its line-up, with Luca Filippi driving alongside Michael Herck. After the great performances boasted in the last two rounds of the championship, the team decided to hand the Italian driver the wheel of the #19 car again.

Scuderia Coloni is eager to announce that Sean Thompson has joined the team for the 2011 GP2 campaign.
The brit engineer, boasting a wide experience in GP2 with SuperNova and Meritus, has been one of the team’s race engineers in the recent Abu Dhabi test, where Scuderia Coloni confirmed the same leading performances seen in the last races of the season.
