The Mazda Road to Indy will provide scholarships to the 2011
The Mazda Road to Indy unites the open-wheel driver development ladder and provides scholarships for champions at each level to move up; USF2000 > Star Mazda > Firestone Indy Lights > IZOD IndyCar.
The starting grid for Saturday’s 100th Firestone Indy Lights race sanctioned by the Indy Racing League was determined by the current entrants’ points standings after persistent weepers kept the series off Kentucky Speedway all day Friday. 
James Hinchcliffe’s oval racing debut in the Firestone Indy Lights Series saw the Canadian produce a 12th place finish after 67 flat-out laps at the Kansas Speedway in Sunday’s ‘Kansas Lottery 100’, 26th April. 
That left several cars badly damaged after four multi-car accidents.
