At the 6 Hours of Donington
A combination of excellent strategy, pace and reliability helped contribute to OAK Racing claiming their first European Le Mans Series victory of the season at the 6 Hours of Donington. The French team’s #35 Onroak Automotive designed and built Morgan-Nissan 2012 LMP2 of Olivier Pla, Bertrand Baguette and Dimitri Enjalbert ran faultlessly throughout a race that also saw the #24 Judd-powered sister car come home sixth.

First victory for an hybrid
As the No.1 Audi R18 e-tron quattro of Andre Lotterer-Marcel Fassler-Benoit Treluyer took the chequered flag at exactly 1500 hours, Audi Sport today secured their 11th victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Lotus LMP2 Second Day at the 24 Hours of Le Mans
The American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón continued to represent the Stars and Stripes well in France, as Flying Lizard Motorsports claimed the GTE Am pole for the 80th 24 Hours of Le Mans. The California-based team earned the provisional pole during the first official qualifying session on Wednesday and could not be topped in two subsequent qualifying sessions on Thursday.

Audi returned to victory at Sebring International Raceway for the first time since 2009 on Saturday with a convincing victory in the 60th Anniversary Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Fueled by Fresh from Florida. Dindo Capello, Tom Kristensen and Allan McNish completed 301 laps in their Audi R18 to win by four laps in the opening round of the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón and the FIA World Endurance Championship.

Grid set for 2012 ALMS and FIA WEC opener
Andre Lotterer led an Audi sweep of the top three positions in qualifying Friday for the 60th Anniversary Mobil 1 Twelve Hours of Sebring Fueled by Fresh from Florida. It was an expected result for the mighty trio of diesel-powered prototypes, and Lotterer led the German factory squad with a lap of 1:45.820 (127.235 mph) in the Audi R18 he drives with Benoit Treluyer and Marcel Fassler. The three seek to add a Sebring victory to their win at the 24 Hours of Le Mans last year.

After both the Le Mans-based team’s LMP1 OAK-Pescarolos were involved in major free practice incidents, their mechanics and engineers worked flat-out to ensure that both cars were able to line-up in the best possible condition for the American sportscar classic alongside the sister LMP2 machine.

Olivier Pla and Miguel Amaral finished second
In the LMP2 class in Autosport 1000km of Silverstone at the wheel of the Quifel-ASM Ginetta-Zytek. The pair led the category of the 170-lap race at the end of the third and fourth hours but were ultimately unable to repeat their victory earlier this year at Spa-Francorchamps.

LMP2 champions class winners and first petrol car at Spa
Zytek Motorsport has returned to its winning ways with victory in today’s 1000km of Spa. Le Mans Series LMP2 champions Olivier Pla and Miguel Amaral in the Quifel-ASM Ginetta-Zytek 09SB took not only the LMP2 class but also finished an impressive sixth place overall, the first petrol-fuelled car home, irrespective of category.

Nigel Mansell’s LMP1 plus a third of the LMP2 class powered by Zytek engines
Zytek Motorsport features strongly in the list of entries, issued today for the 2010 24 Hours of Le Mans race. Former World Champion Nigel Mansell will be at the wheel of Beechdean Mansell’s Zytek-built 09S LMP1 while a third of the LMP2 field will be powered by Zytek engines.

Ginetta-Zytek racers have secured team and drivers’ titles
Newly crowned Le Mans Series LMP2 Team Champion Quifel-ASM Team has again shown its Ginetta-Zytek GZ09S to be the class of the field. Today at Silverstone, driver Olivier Pla totally dominated the LMP2 category finishing the second practice session over two seconds quicker than the next in class Quifel-ASM had started the week as clear favourite with a massive nine-point lead in the series.

The Quifel-ASM Racing entered Ginetta-Zytek was easily the fastest car in the LMP2 class during qualifying for this evening’s 1,000 do Algarve. 
Following a fraught and varied race, both the new Ginetta-Zytek GZ09S prototypes finished the 1,000km of Catalunya, with a fifth overall and a LMP2 class podium respectively.
