Team Australia IndyCar driver Will Power has led the first 16 laps of his home event before crashing out of the Nikon Indy 300 on the streets of Surfers Paradise, Australia. 
This is the first IndyCar Series event on the streets of Surfers Paradise, Australia. Half of the drivers in the 24-car field have previously competed at Surfers Paradise. 
Alex Tagliani is sporting a specially designed Conrad Jupiters themed helmet at this weekend’s Nikon Indy 300. 
Conquest Racing announced today that it has signed a title sponsorship with Sanctuary Cove, Australia’s leading lifestyle residential community development, for this weekend’s Nikon Indy 300. 
This will be Conquest Racing’s sixth appearance on the streets of Australia’s Gold Coast, but its first as part of the IndyCar Series. 
Sport Minister Judy Spence, together with Indy 300 Chairman Terry Mackenroth and General Manager Greg Hooton, today announced Nikon as the naming rights sponsor of the Gold Coast motorsport event which will now be known as thm Nikon Indy 300.
