Dutch team get entry for the Series in 2013 and sign first driver
GP2 Series organisers are pleased to announce that MP Motorsport have been allocated an entry for the 2013 season. The Dutch outfit will join the GP2 field next year and will run their GP2/11 cars for the first time during the opening 2013 pre-season testing session of the Series.

Venezuelan driver quickest on Day 2 in Jerez
Johnny Cecotto was unbeatable today at the final test day of the 2012 season in Spain. He topped both sessions at the wheel of an Arden car. With a laptime of 1:25.694 set this morning, the Venezuelan wrapped up a strong season with the quickest time of the two-day test session at Jerez.

Swede driver quickest on first day of post season tests
Marcus Ericsson put his experience and driving skills to good use today at the wheel of 2012 Champions DAMS car as he topped the timing sheet in Jerez in a trouble free afternoon session. Earlier in the morning, it was Felipe Nasr at Carlin who lead the way.

Canadian Gianmarco Raimondo will be in the Spanish team’s cars
Just five weeks after the last race of the 2012 GP2 Series all the teams are back in action in Barcelona for the first of the two annual post-season tests. Racing Engineering will be giving four drivers the opportunity to drive their cars on the 4.655 km Spanish circuit that is a traditional venue for out of season testing. On Tuesday the 30th of October the Brazilian André Negrão and Canadian Gianmarco Raimondo will be in the Spanish team’s cars and on the following day, Wednesday the 31st, it will be the turn of Dutchman Nigel Melker and Argentinian Facundo Regalia.

Briton on top step as Italian celebrates with his team
Max Chilton has claimed his second win of the season in hot and humid conditions in this afternoon’s feature race in Singapore, leading home Esteban Gutiérrez and Fabio Leimer, while Davide Valsecchi wrapped up the championship by running home just ahead of his title rival Luiz Razia in fourth and fifth positions.

Title decider!
Two weeks ago, Monza was truly an Italian fest with Luca Filippi winning on his comeback drive and Davide Valsecchi savouring another victory whilst pocketing more valuable points, with his sole title rival Luiz Razia failing to score. The DAMS driver now enjoys a twenty-five point lead over the Brazilian as the paddock flies to its last event of the 2012 season.

Briton on top in free practice
Max Chilton has opened his weekend in fine style by setting the pace in this morning’s free practice session in Monza, leading from the front as he put himself at the top of the timesheets for most of the session and finishing four tenths ahead of Felipe Nasr and Luca Filippi.

The title race is on!
Last week in Spa, the tenth round of the 2012 GP2 Series™ season was not short of action and drama. It was a weekend of firsts: Rio Haryanto surprised the rest of the field and stormed to a maiden pole position. On the Saturday, it was Marcus Ericsson’s turn to shine as he pocketed his first win of the season whilst on the following day Josef Kral finally enjoyed a maiden GP2 victory.

Swiss driver leads the way in the wet
Fabio Leimer has got the season restarted in fine style by claiming the top spot in this morning’s very wet free practice session at Spa Francorchamps, ignoring the miserable conditions to lead home Nigel Melker and Johnny Cecotto by almost a second in a red flag affected session.
