Lorenzo extends championship lead with convincing win at Mugello (+result)
In a hard-fought MotoGP™ race at the Gran Premio d’Italia TIM at Mugello
It was Yamaha Factory Racing’s Jorge Lorenzo who stormed to a dominant victory ahead of Dani Pedrosa and Andrea Dovizioso. Repsol Honda Team’s Dani Pedrosa led into turn one, however Lorenzo got past into the lead within a few bends, as the grid diced for positions in the early stages.
Laguna Seca hosts the Red Bull US Grand Prix this weekend as the premier class lands Stateside for Round 10 of the 2011 MotoGP World Championship.

Stoner looks set to fight for a 24th and final Ducati victory on his last appearance for the team, after a strong showing in both of Friday’s practice sessions at Valencia.

A second day of torrential rain cancels qualifying at Estoril

A second day of torrential rain and high winds forced this afternoon’s qualifying session to be cancelled. In many places the circuit was flooded, causing the cancellation on safety grounds and meaning that the grid for tomorrow’s race will be decided based on the fastest laps from the free practice sessions.

Casey Stoner will never be beaten as a Ducati rider at his home Australian Grand Prix, after taking his fourth Phillip Island win in a row on Sunday. The #27, moving to Honda next year, never gave the opposition a chance as he bolted from pole to a two-second lead after just two laps.
