2010 Le Mans class-winner Nick Leventis has just returned from Nepal having completed a 30,000 foot leap into the record books. His skydive over Mount Everest with jump partner Tom Noonan is the highest altitude tandem skydive ever completed at the world’s tallest peak.

In Silverstone 1000kms last weekend
Strakka Racing concluded their record-breaking season with another emphatic class win in the final round of the Le Mans Series at Silverstone on Sunday. The team’s three drivers; Jonny Kane, Nick Leventis and Danny Watts built on an unbeaten run of pole position starts to win LMP2 by a margin of almost a minute, overcoming bodywork damage along the way and establishing a new class lap record for the redeveloped Silverstone circuit.

Taking the team’s Honda Performance Development (HPD) ARX-01c from pole to chequered flag victory in the inaugural Paul Ricard 8 Hours. It was a dominant performance that clinched all the accolades.

Strakka took part in a track test in Portugal last month
Strakka Racing emerged as front-runners in LMP2 after a very successful Le Mans Series test at the Paul Ricard circuit at Le Castellet in southern France. With a brisk Alpine wind cutting across the track, conditions were hardly ideal, but the team’s new HPD ARX-01c in the hands of Danny Watts, Nick Leventis and Jonny Kane set fastest time in three out of the five sessions, including Sunday evening’s run through to midnight.

Strakka Racing has signed Jonny Kane to be the team’s third driver in this season’s Le Mans Series and, entry permitting, Le Mans 24 Hours. Born in Comber, Northern Ireland, Kane will partner Nick Leventis and Danny Watts in Strakka’s HPD ARX-01 LMP2 sports prototype.

Two weeks work experience at top international sports car team on offer
At the Inside Motorsport Race Car Engineering Seminar, one aspiring young race engineer who attends the Inside Motorsport Race Car Engineering Seminar at the Silverstone Innovation Centre on 4-8 January 2010 will be offered two weeks work experience with a leading international sports car team – and work with that team at the Silverstone 1000kms.

Strakka Racing’s Nick Leventis polished off a remarkable season
With a debut win at the Goodwood Revival last weekend, securing victory with co-driver Bobby Verdon-Roe in the prestigious Lavant Cup. One of the headline events at the annual Revival, the Lavant Cup vies with the RAC Tourist Trophy for top honours.
Many teams and drivers have had seven weeks to prepare for the next race of the 2009 season: Round 3 of the Le Mans Series at the new Autodromo do Algarve in southern Portugal.
