While American Joel Diamond dominates the Pro Champ race

2012 World Champion Nick Van Strydonk to defend his Grand Prix of Valcourt title against Villeneuve, Wahl, Lagoy and All
Winner of the 2011 Grand Prix Ski-doo of Valcourt, Tomahawk, Wisconsin resident Nicholas Van Strydonk, began the 2012 season with a bang capturing the World Championship Snowmobiler Derby last January in his home state at the famed Eagle River track.

Opening day race roundup
American Gary Moyle wins Friday’s Pro Champ race while Emil Ashman dominates in Snocross Pro Open 600. Moyle of Houghton, Michigan won Friday’s opening Pro Champ 440 race, the opening round of the SCM Eastern Pro Tour finale at the Grand Prix Ski-Doo of Valcourt presented by La Capitale General Insurance.

The Snowmobile Olympics will be held this week-end
There will be no lack of snow for the upcoming Snowmobile Olympics held this weekend in Valcourt, Quebec. The experienced grounds keeping crew have been working on the Circuit Yvon Duhamel’s two track layouts since the start of the year in order to have the snocross and the ice oval tracks ready for the 28th running of the Grand Prix Ski-Doo of Valcourt, presented by La Capitale General Insurance.
Even if was not totally physically fit to race following a major crash during the Grand Prix Ski-Doo in Valcourt, Jacques Villeneuve Sr. (Uncle Jacques) claimed his second Estern Pro Tour Championship last weeknend in claiming victories Saturday and Sunday. 
Earning his fifth victory of the season Saturday in the Grand Prix Desjardins in Roberval, Quebec, veteran Jacques Villeneuve from St-Cuthbert on Ski-Doo is almost guaranteed his second consecutive SCM Eastern Pro Tour championship.
