The promoter did not renew its agreement with NASCAR
Octane Management inc. confirmed today that it has relinquished its rights to organize and promote a round of the NASCAR Nationwide series in Montreal in 2013. Consequently, the event known as the NAPA Auto Parts 200 presented by Dodge is not scheduled for presentation at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, next summer.

Octane Management inc., promoter of the NAPA auto parts 200 presented by Dodge and FLAIR Management, Image, Conseil, are happy to announce today that the young and talented singer from Quebec, Marilou, has been given the responsibility to sing both the Canadian and American national anthems during the ceremonies preceding the NASCAR’s Nationwide series race, on August 18th at the Gilles-Villeneuve circuit.

This association will be on full display this weekend as the logo will not only be on the No. 22 Sprint Cup Series car but will also be on the No. 22 Nationwide Series entry. In this fifteenth year, as a symbol of appreciation, Penske Racing will place the Lennox logo on the hood and rear deck lid of the No. 22 car for the Bristol Nationwide Series race on Saturday, March 17.

Well-traveled Ambrose finally wins at Montreal
Four years ago, Marcos Ambrose came all the way from Australia. Saturday morning, he came all the way from Michigan where he is competing in the Sprint Cup Series this weekend. Then, in the afternoon, on Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, Ambrose came all the way from the back of the pack to finally win the NAPA Auto Parts 200 in the Nationwide Series.

Today the promoters of the NAPA Auto Parts 200 presented by Dodge announced that for the first time ever, 14 drivers competing in the NASCAR Nationwide Series will take part in a one hour autograph session this Saturday.

More than thirty Dodge cars to compete in NASCAR racing at Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve
Dodge drivers include: Andrew Ranger, Alex Tagliani, Jacques Villeneuve and Maryeve Dufault. Dodge Red will be the dominant colour both on the track and off at the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve in Montréal this weekend. A total of 30 Dodge race cars are entered in the two NASCAR Series races.

Clint Bowyer has won the pole for the Nationwide Series race at Daytona International Speedway
Bowyer’s lap of 180.821 mph in Friday’s qualifying session knocked Landon Cassill off the front starting spot, moments after he had knocked Danica Patrick from the top position.

Leads 192 of 200 laps to surpass record set by himself and Ard
Kyle Busch has set a single-season record for wins in the Nationwide Series, taking the checkered flag for the 11th time in only 23 races Saturday at Dover International Speedway. Busch was tied with Sam Ard for the previous record with 10 wins. Busch also won 10 races in 2008, matching the record Ard set in NASCAR’s second-tier series in 1983.

In Nationwide: Harvick held off Keselowski to win at Richmond
Carl Edwards continued to build toward the Chase for the Sprint Cup with a pole-winning run Friday at Richmond International Raceway. Edwards will start from the top spot in Saturday’s Air Guard 400, the final race before the Chase begins at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. With a lap at 127.762 mph (21.133 seconds), Edwards edged Juan Montoya (127.455 mph) in winning his first pole at the three-quarters-mile short track.

Jacques Villeneuve pleased the fans with a third place finish
At long last, road-course ace Boris Said is a winner in the Nationwide Series. Said won Sunday’s NAPA Auto Parts 200 at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve when — with the two strongest cars out of contention — the always unpredictable event ended with Said beating Max Papis in a drag race to the finish.
Joey Logano leads 184 of 200 laps in winning his seventh Nationwide Series race of the season and completing the season sweep at Dover.
