NASCAR Canadian Tire Series
In fourth place on the starting grid, everything was in favour for Louis-Philippe Dumoulin to finish amongst the leaders in this ninth NASCAR Canadian Tire Series event at the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve yesterday. Positioning himself in third place quickly after the race start, the 2011 Rookie of the Year was forced to stop the n°47 WeatherTech.ca/Bellemare Dodge and withdraw from the race due to mechanical problems that occurred during the seventh lap.

Following a successful rookie season in 2011
Sherwood Park, Alberta’s Noel Dowler, driver of the #5 EMCO Dodge and EMCO Corporation have reached a multiyear partnership agreement that will see Dowler competing in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series in 2012 and beyond. Following a successful rookie season in 2011 Dowler looks forward to taking the next step in his career this coming season as he competes in the entire NCATS season in a DJK Racing prepared car.

Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve is still an enigma for Reed Sorenson, only a few weeks away from his first NAPA Auto Parts 200 Presented by Dodge
Caught in a battle to the finish with Elliott Sadler for the 2011 NASCAR Nationwide Series Driver title, Reed Sorenson from Georgia is intrigued by Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve where, at the NAPA Auto Parts 200 Presented by Dodge, he will be challenged for the first time by the famed road course. During the August 19-20 event, the eight-year series veteran will be discovering the Montréal track at the wheel of his Turner Racing #32 Chevrolet.

Pastrana-Waltrip Racing and NAPA announced today that Canadian driver Patrick Carpentier will race the No. 99 NAPA AUTO PARTS Toyota in the NAPA AUTO PARTS 200 presented by Dodge, NASCAR Nationwide Series race at the Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve at Parc Jean-Drapeau in Montreal on Aug. 20.

The NAPA Auto Parts 200 presented by Dodge, the only Canadian stop on the NASCAR series major tours, will have an ambassador starting next weekend at Lee USA Speedway in New Hampshire for the opening round of the 2011 American-Canadian Tour (ACT).

Jacques Villeneuve 8th
Witouth any surprise Marcos Ambrose had his way Saturday afternoon during the NASCAR Nationwide Zippo 200 in Watkins Glen. Scared a few times by Joe Gibbs Racing teammates, Kyle Busch and Joey Logano, but at the end of the 82 laps he crossed the finish line 1st while Jacques Villeneuve ended up in 8th place.

In the Nationwide series at New Hampshire Motor Speedway
Danica Patrick finished 30th on her NASCAR return in the Nationwide series at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, following an early incident. The IndyCar regular qualified 25th after steadily building up her speed during practice on Friday, despite getting off to a slow start having been away from NASCAR for nearly three months while focusing on the IZOD IndyCar Series.

Edwards dominates at Road America for first 2010 win
Carl Edwards swooped past Carl Edwardson a restart with nine laps to go, then ran away from the field to win the NASCAR Nationwide series race at Road America on Saturday. Villeneuve made a wild charge to the lead with 12 laps to go. But another caution bunched up the field, allowing Edwards to make his decisive move.
Rockstar Energy Drink driver Tanner Foust has a strong lead in the Global Rallycross Championship points after a big race weekend that saw an estimated 45,000 fans in the grandstands at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on Saturday. 
Busch won his ninth NASCAR Nationwide race of 2010, his sixth in his last seven starts and 39th of his career by dominating the U.S. Cellular 250 in front of 55,988 fans at Iowa Speedway.
