Saturday night in Toronto

Following his participation as honorary flagman at the NAPA 100 last summer, held at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve on Ile Notre-Dame, now Richard “Dick” Foley will be inducted into the “Canadian Motorsport Hall of Fame” next Saturday in Toronto along with other Canadians and Michael Andretti ( in international category). The 18th edition of the CMHOF gala is expected to be attended by over 300 guests.

About fifteen drivers including Andrew Ranger and Alexandre Tagliani who will have double duty this coming weekend at Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve to participate in the two main NASCAR events, the NAPA 100 in the NASCAR Canadian Tire and NAPA 200 in the Nationwide Series.
There will be plenty of action at Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve on Ile Notre-Dame with the presentation of a Nationwide race, the NAPA 200 where 5 Quebecers will compete plus a NASCAR Canadian Tire race with a preliminary list of 34 registered drivers and cars for the NAPA 100.

Flagworld learned during the week-end that we are going to see Alexandre Tagliani in the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series for the 40th Edition of the Grand Prix de Trois-Rivières and possibly in Montréal in the NAPA 100 that will be a prelude to the NASCAR Nationwide race… which he should also take part of!
In the end, the conditions proved to be less than ideal for Andrew Ranger’s NASCAR Nationwide Series debut, but the events transpiring prior to the rain falling on Montreal’s Circuit Gilles Villeneuve left little doubt as to the youngster’s ability to handle any type of racecar.
