Sauber’s ultra-slim sidepods work well, team co-owner, founder and former boss Peter Sauber has revealed.
The Swiss team stunned its opposition when it launched the new Ferrari-powered C32, featuring the smallest sidepods seen in modern times in formula one. The innovation, whilst providing an obvious aerodynamic benefit, raised questions about whether the tight packaging could house radiators good enough for adequate cooling.

Peter Sauber has declared himself happy with 2013 team racer Esteban Gutierrez, following the Mexican rookie’s first test of the pre-season at Jerez.
“Last year we were not entirely satisfied with his performance in GP2,” the Swiss team’s founder, co-owner and former boss told Motorsport Aktuell. “Sometimes we were even disappointed, so we didn’t know exactly what we could expect from him,” added Sauber.

Toto Wolff, a shareholder and director of the Williams team, doubts he will continue his role of driver manager.
That is despite the Austrian’s latest charge, Valtteri Bottas, having successfully risen through the ranks to make his formula one debut in 2013. But Wolff told Switzerland’s Motorsport Aktuell that 22-year-old Finn Bottas is more an exception than the rule.

Jacques Villeneuve says he does not think Mercedes has made the right choice in pairing Lewis Hamilton with Nico Rosberg next year.
The 1997 world champion does not, however, question the German marque’s decision to poach Hamilton from McLaren. Instead, Villeneuve wonders about his former title nemesis Michael Schumacher’s exit. “Why is he stopping?” the 41-year-old told Switzerland’s Motorsport Aktuell.

The plethora of German drivers is making it harder for Nico Hulkenberg to break through in formula one. That is the claim of famous driver manager Willi Weber, who after watching his rookie charge Hulkenberg secure pole in Brazil last year was left scrambling to find the 23-year-old a new job.

Petrov to race Renault-powered Lotus in 2011? – report
French carmaker Renault SA is reportedly considering buying back a majority stake in the formula one team that bears its name. Amid the car sales crisis and economic downturn, and the damaging crashgate scandal, Renault sold a rumoured 85 per cent of the Enstone based team last year to Luxembourg-based investment firm Genii Capital.

Williams wants to remain an independent formula one team, new chairman Adam Parr has insisted. Now into a sixth consecutive season without a win, and thirteen seasons on since Jacques Villeneuve’s title, the famous British outfit might be ruing life in the paddock.
Recently, a Spanish television station reported that, notwithstanding the existence of new contracts, Felipe Massa and Robert Kubica could be set to swap seats for 2011. 
It is reported by Switzerland’s Motorsport Aktuell that German carmaker Opel is keen on a collaboration in the series with the famous British formula one team.
