Last weekend’s fifth round of the Canadian Rally Championship crowned new Canadian champions Antoine L’Estage from St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Que. and co-driver Nathalie Richard from Halifax.

Rocky Mountain Rally: a new venue !

The second round of the Canadian Rally Championship will be held this Friday in Alberta with the 38th running of the Rocky Mountain Rally. The event will now run on a single day near Calgary around the Kananaskis Country, a first for this event that used to head south over the last twenty years. This year’s event sees six Mitsubishi cars composing the Brigade that will seek overall victory and two other class wins.

Japanese carmaker Mitsubishi has revealed its interest in F1 governing body the FIA’s plans to create a global racing series for electric cars. Recent reports said FIA president Jean Todt, who thinks the new category can be set up for 2013 and be run on formula one circuits, has been asked to create the series by the European Commission.

Round 5 : Pacific Forest Rally…

Antoine L’Estage and Nathalie Richard, both of St-Jean-sur-Richelieu (QC) are among the favourites in this weekend’s Pacific Forest Rally, in British Columbia, the penultimate round of the 2010 Canadian Rally Championship. At the wheel of their Rockstar Royal Group Mitsubishi Evo X, the team has won four of the past five events in North America and is striving for a sixth win this weekend, which would vault them into the lead of the Canadian title hunt.

National title at stake for Mitsubishi at Tall Pines Rally
With the sixth and final round of the Canadian Rally Championship being held this weekend in Bancroft, Ontario, Antoine L’Estage and co-driver Nathalie Richard from St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, Québec, in their 2009 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution, are one step closer to becoming national champions. If this happens, it will be a first for Mitsubishi in Canada.
