Media mogul James Murdoch is in Abu Dhabi for talks with formula one chiefs, the Mirror newspaper reports.
The report said figures from top teatms McLaren, Ferrari, Red Bull and Mercedes are set to meet with Murdoch, the News Corporation and Sky official. The Mirror said Murdoch’s father Rupert, arguably the world’s most influential media figure, has had his interest in formula one sparked by his British channel Sky’s new subscription coverage of the sport.

Sergio Perez apologised after almost wiping his 2013 teammate Jenson Button out of the recent Korean grand prix.
“Sergio said sorry, yeah,” the McLaren driver told the Mirror. “To the team actually.” Young Mexican Perez, currently driving for Sauber, will join Button at McLaren next year, to replace the Mercedes-bound Lewis Hamilton.

Whitmarsh not worried Hamilton spat to turn ‘toxic’
The 2008 world champion’s contract runs out this year, and so far team executive Ron Dennis has indicated the 27-year-old might have to take a pay-cut. Briton Hamilton hit back by indicating he is prepared to fight even for minor details, like the right to keep his trophies rather than relinquish them to the display cabinets at McLaren’s Woking factory.

Red Bull has denied claims the ‘floor hole’ saga will hurt the team’s performance in Canada this weekend.
Despite team boss Christian Horner insisting the RB8 was fully legal when Mark Webber won the recent Monaco grand prix, the FIA has ruled that the holes in the floor ahead of the rear wheels were in fact not compliant with the rules.

The penalty might be harsh, but the loss of Lewis Hamilton’s pole in Spain is just the latest calamitous mistake by McLaren.
That was the tone of the paddock’s reaction to the news late on Saturday that a McLaren gaffe saw the FIA send Hamilton from first to last on the Spanish grand prix grid. The Sun newspaper called it a draconian “24-place grid penalty” imposed by the FIA after an “astonishing cock-up” by McLaren.

Bernie Ecclestone has revealed he was not happy Bahrain organisers used the acronym ‘F1′ in its political slogan for last weekend’s race.
The F1 chief executive was highly supportive of the island Kingdom’s intensely controversial return to the sport’s calendar, insisting Bahrain will retain its grand prix “forever”. F1′s governing body has played down claims Sebastian Vettel faces a penalty for his behaviour during the Malaysian grand prix.
After the race, the reigning world champion dismissed HRT’s Narain Karthikeyan as an “idiot” following their on-track collision. On-board footage subsequently proved that Red Bull driver Vettel, 24, twice showed his Indian driver a ‘middle finger’ salute. Reports in Germany suggested the behaviour was a breach of the stricter code of conduct under FIA president Jean Todt, with the German theoretically facing anything from a warning to the revocation of his superlicense.

The FIA could sanction F1′s reigning back-to-back world champion for his behaviour during the recent Malaysian grand prix.
Before calling backmarker Narain Karthikeyan a “gherkin” and “idiot” in the wake of their collision, Sebastian Vettel was captured by his on-board camera twice displaying his middle-finger to the Indian driver. “I think he’s highly frustrated because he’s having a tough season,” Karthikeyan told the Deccan Chronicle on Wednesday.
