Upgraded 2012-spec F2 car leads to two seconds quicker lap times

Markus Pommer headed the timesheets during today’s (Wednesday) official FIA Formula Two Championship test at the Silverstone GP circuit. The session also marked the first outing for the new upgraded 2012-spec F2 car, which lapped the circuit two seconds quicker than during last year’s pre-season test.

McLaren Autosport Award finalist signs up after impressive pre-season tests

James Cole is the latest driver to confirm he will be competing in the 2011 FIA Formula Two Championship, after a standout performance at the recent pre-season tests at Silverstone and Snetterton. The 22-year-old Briton impressed by frequently running in the top ten over both days and even topping a session at the new Snetterton 300 circuit yesterday (Wednesday), despite his previous lack of experience in the Williams JPH1B F2 car.

Racing for Litespeed F3 is a mega opportunity
McLaren Autosport Award finalist Aaron Steele will make his Formula 3 debut at Snetterton next weekend (Sunday, July 5), driving for Litespeed F3. Following a shakedown test at the Norfolk circuit on Tuesday (June 23), 20-year-old Steele, who lives in Rochester, will race in rounds nine and ten of the Cooper Tires British F3 Championship.
