ALMS confirms 2013 schedule date change
Four-hour Monterey round now set for May 11
The American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón has confirmed a date change for its 2013 race at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, Calif. The new date – Saturday, May 11 – reflects a change from the previously announced May 18 date, which conflicts with the Nürburgring 24 Hours.

Laguna Seca returns to the World Superbike calendar in 2013
Marco Melandri (BMW Motorrad Motorsport) proved the fastest rider on day one at Portimao, with a 1 minute 43.196 second lap taking him ahead of Eugene Laverty (Aprilia Racing). Tom Sykes (Kawasaki Racing Team) was third, and completing a sequence of different machines in the top four places, Jonathan Rea (Honda World Superbike Team) was fourth.

What began as a “clean and green” beginning for the second round of the IMSA GT3 Cup Challenge by Yokohama doubleheader at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, rapidly turned into a dogfight that culminated in a five-car incident just before the checkered flag fell on the weather-shortened 40-lap race today.

A home race for Muscle Milk Pickett Racing will see the team start on pole position. Klaus Graf was the fastest qualifier for the American Le Mans Monterey presented by Patrón on Friday with a lap of 1:13.573 (109.508 mph) in his Honda Performance Development ARX-03a prototype.

One round removed from its first victory of the season in the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón, Muscle Milk Pickett Racing set the fastest time Thursday in testing for the American Le Mans Monterey presented by Patrón. Lucas Luhr posted a best lap of 1:16.88 (104.788 mph) in the Honda Performance Development ARX-03a prototype he shares with Klaus Graf for Saturday’s six-hour race at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca.

Round 10: United States GP – Free Practice One & Two at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca
Jorge Lorenzo, last year’s winner here at Laguna Seca, finished the first day of running for the United States Grand Prix fastest overall, just 0.141seconds ahead of Dani Pedrosa. Casey Stoner, who was fastest in the morning’s free practice, finished third fastest a further 0.034seconds adrift.
