Ex-Formula 1 driver and former Le Mans 24 Hour winner Mark Blundell to join United Autosports alongside Richard Meins
United Autosports is delighted to announce that it has signed Ex-Formula 1 driver Mark Blundell to compete full time in the 2013 Avon Tyres British GT Championship alongside Richard Meins, reuniting their partnership from the 24 Hours of Spa in 2012.

Vodafone McLaren Mercedes prides itself on the longevity of its partnerships, and at the 2012 Canadian Grand Prix three of them reach a significant milestone. ExxonMobil, Mercedes-Benz and Enkei have each started 300 grands prix with Vodafone McLaren Mercedes.

Sebastien Buemi is not getting excited despite preparing to clock up a career milestone this weekend.
Blick newspaper points out that the 22-year-old Swiss, who debuted for his current team Toro Rosso as a teenager in 2009, will contest his fiftieth consecutive grand prix in Singapore. He will therefore draw level with Luca Badoer and move ahead of the career tallies of predecessors including Christian Klien and Derek Daly, and even race winner Jean-Pierre Jabouille as well as Mike Hailwood.

The McLaren drivers and Mark Webber escaped with mere reprimands on Sunday after being investigated by the stewards. The stewards, including former F1 driver Mark Blundell, looked into whether the trio went too quickly for the yellow flag triggered by Heikki Kovalainen’s crash.

Senna or Grosjean will replace Kubica at this week’s Jerez test.
There are more than three candidates to race injured Robert Kubica’s Renault in 2011, team boss Eric Boullier has clarified. Reports on Tuesday said the Frenchman had shortlisted only Bruno Senna, Nick Heidfeld and Vitantonio Liuzzi to become Vitaly Petrov’s new teammate until Kubica is ready to return to the R31.

Former Arrows team boss and owner Tom Walkinshaw has died of lung cancer aged 64.
The sad news about the Scot broke on the Twitter network, with former driver Mark Blundell paying tribute to the “good driver and team owner, RIP”. It was later confirmed by the professional English rugby club Gloucester, which was owned by its Scottish-born chairman Walkinshaw.

In maiden 24 Hour Spa race
The American owned United Autosports team, formed only earlier this year, will contest its maiden 24 hour race when a brace of Audi R8 LMS GT3 class sports cars line-up resplendent in red, white and blue livery for the 63rd running of the 24 Hours of Spa in Belgium next weekend (July 31-August 1).
Gary will remain as a test, development & reserve driver for the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes team, signing a deal that allows him to continue dovetailing his Formula 1 test duties with his racing career.
