Both HRT F111 cars will have the image of a black ribbon painted on the livery during the Indian Grand Prix.
This gesture is to commemorate the lives of Dan Wheldon and Marco Simoncelli who passed away in motorsport accidents. Dan Wheldon was an extremely talented English Indy Car driver who had won the prestigious Indy 500 on two occasions and the Indy Car Championship in 2005. He was involved in a fatal collision at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway on the 16th of October, 2011 and sadly passed away at the age of 33.

Sepang, built ahead of its 1999 debut, also hosts F1′s annual Malaysian round.
Sepang will look into the safety of the Malaysian grand prix venue following Sunday’s death of MotoGP rider Marco Simoncelli. The Italian, whose helmet came off during the incident, died in Malaysia after he partially fell from his Honda and was struck from behind by rivals Valentino Rossi and Colin Edwards.

Bernie Ecclestone is confident formula one remains ahead of the pack in terms of safety. The F1 chief executive was speaking after the death of Indycar driver Dan Wheldon in Las Vegas last week, and before Italian MotoGP rider Marco Simoncelli was killed on Sunday in a sickening crash at Sepang.

Round 10: United States GP – Qualifying at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca
In a nail-biting end to the hour-long qualifying session, Jorge Lorenzo claimed pole position for today’s United States Grand Prix at Laguna Seca just 0.072seconds ahead of Casey Stoner. Both riders used a harder front and softer rear slick to post their best efforts on their last lap, and were the only two riders to beat the existing lap record.

Round 10: United States GP – Free Practice One & Two at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca
Jorge Lorenzo, last year’s winner here at Laguna Seca, finished the first day of running for the United States Grand Prix fastest overall, just 0.141seconds ahead of Dani Pedrosa. Casey Stoner, who was fastest in the morning’s free practice, finished third fastest a further 0.034seconds adrift.

A best lap of 1’21.681 in MotoGP qualifying secured Casey Stoner pole position for Sunday’s race at Sachsenring. Repsol Honda’s Casey Stoner secured his sixth pole position for the 2011 season, 0.252s ahead of team mate and three time premier class winner at the Sachsenring circuit, Dani Pedrosa.

Round 9: German GP – Free Practice One & Two
After the opening two free practice sessions of the German Grand Prix, it is San Carlo Honda Gresini’s Marco Simoncelli who sits at the top of the timesheets just 0.095seconds ahead of Jorge Lorenzo as the pair traded the top spot for much of the afternoon’s 45 minutes of track time. Simoncelli recorded his best time on his final lap of the session using the softer front and rear slicks.

Repsol Honda’s Casey Stoner stormed to his fifth pole position of the season at Mugello today, making the most of the half an hour of dry running during qualifying to lap 0.4seconds clear of the field, setting a new outright two-wheeled Mugello lap record in the process.

Marco Simoncelli was fastest overall today, setting the pace in the dry this morning at the newly resurfaced Mugello circuit. His last-lap effort saw him leapfrog Repsol Honda riders Casey Stoner and Andrea Dovizioso who were second and third respectively. Compound choices were mixed today with all specifications being used to good effect.
