Pedro de la Rosa, HRT’s lead driver in 2012, has joined boss Luis Perez-Sala in admitting that the Spanish team has folded.
Spaniard de la Rosa, who was contracted to keep racing this year, has already said he is on the lookout for a new role elsewhere as test or reserve driver. “There has been no official announcement,” the 41-year-old told the Spanish sports daily Marca, “but we all feel that the project will end.

Team boss Luis Perez-Sala has admitted the HRT dream is over.
After three seasons at the back of the F1 grid, the Spanish backmarker has folded, even though official confirmation has been lacking so far. “It was impossible to go on,” Sala, a former Minardi driver who was brought in by new owners Thesan Capital to run the team this year, told El Mundo Deportivo newspaper.

Pedro de la Rosa is definitely staying at HRT in 2013, the Spanish team’s boss Luis Perez-Sala has announced.
“Pedro de la Rosa will drive for us in 2013,” he is quoted by the German language Speed Week. The Spanish veteran’s current teammate is Narain Karthikeyan, but the Indian has been linked with a possible switch to Indycar. Speed Week said the presence of Karthikeyan, 35, has not brought the expected flood of Indian sponsors to HRT.

Becoming the first Chinese driver to drive at a Formula 1 Grand Prix
Ma Qing Hua will make his official debut in the Formula 1 World Championship this upcoming Friday at the first free practice session of the Italian Grand Prix which takes place in Monza this week. The 24 year old Chinese driver will replace Narain Karthikeyan at the wheel of the number 23 F112-03 for this session.

PRG will cover all of the Spanish team’s technical audiovisual needs
Production Resource Group (PRG), the largest company in the audiovisual services industry worldwide, has reached an agreement with HRT Formula 1 Team by which it becomes its Official Supplier of Audiovisual Technology until December of 2012. PRG will cover all of the Spanish team’s technical audiovisual needs both at its headquarters at the Caja Mágica and at events taking place away from it.

HRT Formula 1 Team will take part in its Young Driver Test at Silverstone after the Grand Prix

Young Driver Test taking place in Silverstone on the 10th, 11th and 12th of July
In only a month and half’s time, Chinese driver Ma Qing Hua will enjoy his first opportunity to step into a Formula 1 car and will do so at the wheel of the F112 at the legendary Silverstone circuit. The member of the Spanish team’s new-born driver development programme will thereby accomplish one of his first objectives on his road to the pinnacle of motorsport.

The day has come for HRT Formula 1 Team to officially open its doors to the new headquarters at the Caja Mágica in Madrid.
Team Principal, Luis Pérez-Sala, and drivers Pedro de la Rosa, Dani Clos and Ma Qing Hua acted as the hosts of this meeting with the press, sponsors, suppliers and friends of the team. The Mayoress of Madrid, Honourable Madam Ana Botella and the President of the Spanish Motorsport Federation and Vice-President of the FIA, Mr.Carlos Gracia, wanted to accompany the team on such a special day.
