The car is already traveling towards Spain after being completed at the Auto GP Italian headquarters in Passignano sul Trasimeno.
In addition to the high-quality team and driver roster making it on-track at Barcelona, the Catalan track will also host the debut of the brand-new Auto GP car for 2013, featuring an highly-revamped package.

Auto GP racers impress in GP2 test
Five drivers in the test’s roster were coming from the Auto GP championship, started and promoted by Enzo Coloni. Daniel De Jong was probably the most surprising man in the pack. The Dutchman, who raced for the MP team and scored 5th place this season, drove for Scuderia Coloni. The team welcomed him warmly and was eager to provide him with a chance to express his full potential. He clocked the second fastest lap of the first day before rounding out the top-5 in Day 2 at his first time driving a GP2 Dallara with wet weather tires.

Caterham Racing driver quickest in rain affected session
Day two of the first post-season test session opened this morning at Circuit de Catalunya on a very wet track with rain pouring down incessantly. It took a while before the first drivers braved the tricky conditions in order to do their installation laps. Kevin Ceccon at Ocean was the first one to feed on to the track, but it was Sergio Canamasas at Lotus GP who set a first laptime albeit a pretty slow one compared to yesterday’s best time.

Scuderia Coloni and Luca Filippi will race together also in the last round of the GP2 season, scheduled for 21-23 September in Singapore.
After experiencing an amazing weekend in Monza, where Luca and the team clinched a dominant win in Race 1, Scuderia Coloni will again boast an all-italian line-up with Filippi and Onidi for the Asian round, an event that will see GP2 race on the Singapore street circuit for the first time.

Scuderia Coloni and Luca Filippi will be back together for the Monza GP2 round.
The pair that dominated the second part of 2011, with three wins out of four events that paved the way for a 2nd place in the drivers’ championship, will hence reunite for their home race, the same event that last year saw Luca and the team clinch a great win in the Feature Race.

Jules Bianchi’s personal sponsor has signed up with the Force India team for 2012.
The French rookie, also with the strong backing of Ferrari’s development programme, will be Force India’s reserve and ‘Friday’ driver this season. Without mentioning 22-year-old Bianchi’s name, the Silverstone based team announced this week that Brazilian car parts maker Aethra is a new sponsor.

Day after day, teams keep committing to the third Auto GP season: the latest announcement comes from Euronova Racing, the team founded and managed by former racer Vincenzo Sospiri. The Italian outfit made his entry official today, and is expected to announce its driver line-up very soon.

18 drivers are on track today in Magione for the first day of the Auto GP promotional test.
It’s a really varied line-up for both what concerns experience and nationality, given that the Italian tarmac hosted drivers from seven different countries, with three Champions among them. Campos Racing went on track with the Italian Superstars Champion Alberto Cerqui and Facundo Regalia, F3 racer from Argentina.

In a few minutes they will be on track battling for the crown, but the Auto GP title contenders found the time to give us their impressions on the very last race, the one that will decide who will be Champion. They are Kevin Ceccon, leader with 128 points, Luca Filippi, second with 119, Sergei Afanasiev, third at 117, and Adrien Tambay, fourth with 110 points.

Racing Engineering driver once again quickest on final day
The final session of a two-day 2011 post-season test took place today at Circuito de Jerez. Twenty-six drivers sat behind the wheel of the GP2/11 car. While Arden International, Scuderia Coloni and Super Nova Racing did not change their line-up for today, the other teams welcomed new faces, including newcomers Rupert Svendsen-Cook at Racing Engineering, GP3 graduate Tom Dillmann at Barwa Addax, Giovanni Venturini at Dams, and Yuki Shiraishi at Ocean Racing Technology.

Racing Engineering driver quickest in Jerez post-season test
The first 2011 post-season testing opened today at Circuito de Jerez under clear blue skies, warm temperatures and in slightly windy conditions. Today’s entry list comprised of a total of twenty-seven drivers who ran around the Spanish track on Pirelli P Zero hard compounds for this first day.

Kevin Ceccon won’t be the sole Auto GP driver to test a GP2 car in Jerez.
In the two-day test that is due to start tomorrow, other four stars of the Series will look for a chance to shine: Luca Filippi and Fabio Onidi will go on track with Scuderia Coloni, while Rio Haryanto and Giovanni Venturini will drive for French team DAMS.

Two days of test in Jerez
The GP2 season ended just 10 days ago with the Monza weekend, but for Scuderia Coloni it’s already time to get back on track. The Italian team had really little time to celebrate Luca Filippi’s second place in the GP2 standings, as the whole staff started working at full steam immediately after the home race in order to make the cars ready for the Jerez test, due to start tomorrow.
The amazing 2011 Auto GP season, which saw Kevin Ceccon clinch the title at the last race after a three-way fight with Luca Filippi and Sergei Afanasiev, keeps paying dividends for both the championship and its drivers.
