What a Comeback: Muscle Milk wins at Lime Rock
Lizards win GT in Bergmeister’s 100th ALMS start
Muscle Milk Pickett Racing scored a victory for the ages at Lime Rock Park on Saturday. Lucas Luhr and Klaus Graf came from four laps down to win the American Le Mans Northeast Grand Prix. It was the second victory at Lime Rock Park for the Muscle Milk team but first with Honda Performance Development’s ARX-03a prototype.

Home-track team, defending race winner start out front
The Lime Rock weekend’s first battle went to the home-track team. Guy Smith put Dyson Racing on pole position Friday for the American Le Mans Northeast Grand Prix in an epic 15-minute session. Smith set a lap of 44.017 (120.553 mph) in Dyson Racing’s Mazda-powered Lola coupe that he drives with Chris Dyson.

As is normally tradition – except for one season since 2004 – the American Le Mans Series presented by Tequila Patrón starts its summer swing at Lime Rock Park. This year’s American Le Mans Northeast Grand Prix will see 32 entries on the grid: 15 prototypes and 17 GT cars.

F1600 Formula F Championship Series heads to Lime Rock Park
Two wild races at VIR in April ended with a win for Brandon Newey, who leads the point standings for Bryan Herta Autosport in the Mygale/Honda, and a victory for Matias Koykka, driving the Spectrum/Honda. As the F1600 Formula F Championship Series heads to Lime Rock Park, those two are expected to battle along with 2011 Champion Bill Valet, returning for a one-off, and a number of other fast, young rookies, in addition to a field of F1600 veterans.

Orsolon in a GTP Radon for VIR
F2000 Championship Series opener at VIR, April 12-15
Brazilian Fabio Orsolon will drive the No. 77 Fiber Dynamics/GTP Radon chassis for GTP Motorsports at the F2000 Championship Series opener at VIR, April 12-15. Orsolon brings two full years of F2000 starts to the table, having driven for Alegra Motorsports in 2009 and 2010, with a couple one-off efforts in 2011.

Championship to Valet, race win to Gooden
Valet won the 2011 F1600 title
Wyatt Gooden remained perfect in F1600 competition, taking his fourth win of 2011 in just four starts, and his second win of the day at Watkins Glen for Quantum Racing Services in a Van Diemen/Honda. The bigger story however, was the inaugural Championship, which went to Bill Valet, who finished third in a nail-biting slip-streaming battle among a number of cars, including closest points rival Tim Kautz, who had to settle for sixth place in the season finale.

After a non-race on Saturday following an opening-lap incident, F1600 Formula F Championship Series competitors got round nine of the 2011 season underway on a cold-but-dry Sunday morning at Watkins Glen. Wyatt Gooden, driving a Van Diemen/Honda for Quantum Racing Services, led from pole for his third win, by just a nose, of 2011, in just three starts, in a shortened race due to a crash on lap seven.

The inaugural season finale for the F1600 Formula F Championship Series is set for a thrilling showdown at Watkins Glen this weekend, with Bill Valet and Tim Kautz going head to head for the Dangerous Cargo Cup. Valet leads the standings over Kautz by 10 points, with 110 up for grabs at Watkins Glen. However, with drops calculated, Kautz jumps to the top of the F1600 standings by 13 points. Meanwhile, 26 other entries will try to play spoiler in what has been an ultra-competitive season.

Top 10 double keeps Nathan Morcom in F2000 Rookie of the Year contest
Morcom is in sixth place overall, and third in the rookie standings
Nathan Morcom remains in contention for the F2000 Championship Series Rookie of the Year title after two seventh placings in a wild day’s racing at Lime Rock Park. The Sydney teenager kept his cool despite problems on and off the 2.4km (1.5-mile) Connecticut racetrack in the 11th and 12th rounds of the American ‘development’ openwheeler series.

Foster wins at Lime Rock
Art Foster came through to win his first F1600 Formula F Championship Series race at his home track in a Van Diemen/Ford.
Foster, a long time racer, found the top step of the podium after an epic yet high-attrition battle among the leaders. Ryan Leach was a career best second in the Spectrum/Honda and Colin Thompson tied his career best finish in third in a Swift/Honda.

Valet wins on home turf
Valet won his second race of 2011
Bill Valet capitalized on home turf, winning his second race of 2011 in the first of two F1600 Formula F Championship Series races at Lime Rock in his Swift/Ford. Valet takes the points lead (without calculating drops) from Tim Kautz, who failed to finish with mechanical issues. Meanwhile, Art Foster came home second and Colin Thompson drove from dead last to third, even leading a few laps in the late stages of the race.

F2000 ready for Lime Rock
After four wins, Audette leads the standings
The F2000 Championship Series takes over Connecticut’s “Bull Ring,” Lime Rock Park, this weekend, for rounds 11 and 12 of the 2011 season along with the F1600 Formula F Championship Series and the NASCAR Modifieds. Remy Audette is coming off his fourth win of the year in a drama-filled race at Mosport, and leads the championship following a seven-week break heading into the 1.53-mile seven-turn road course.

Crunch Time for F1600 Championship
Kautz leads the standings, but not by much
With four races to go, coming off a 10-week break since Mid-Ohio, the inaugural battle for the F1600 Formula F Championship Series crown is heating up heading into the doubleheader weekend at Lime Rock Park. Tim Kautz leads the way, with two wins and strong finishes in his Piper/Ford, but Lime Rock will pose challenges for the Championship leader with a host of local experts and young guns expected to challenge for the wins. Twenty-eight cars are entered.

Rémy Audette Anxious to Battle at the Lime Rock Track
F2000 Championship Series
Leader of the F2000 Championship Series four races before the end of the season, Quebec driver Rémy Audette will compete this weekend at the Lime Rock circuit in Connecticut. At a track that he enjoys, where he still has the F2000 lap record, the goal for the Dimensions Doors / Novatech Van Diemen driver is to increase his lead at the top of the standings.
