Motorsport Asia has already made alternative arrangements for the three affected Championships.
Motorsport Asia announced today that they recently received notification from CKMP, the Asian Festival Of Speed (AFOS) Promoter in Korea, that they are unable to proceed with the AFOS event scheduled for 8th May 2011, due to problems with the circuit owner KAVO.

Whiting confirms Korean track approved for race
Charlie Whiting on Tuesday gave Korea’s new formula one circuit the thumbs-up. The leading FIA official had been at the Yeongam site since Monday for the track’s final readiness inspection, amid speculation it was not ready for its inaugural event next weekend.

Korea’s new formula one circuit is almost complete, an official of the Yeongam venue has revealed. Speculation has dogged the inaugural event due to construction delays and an unusually late FIA inspection scheduled for the day after Sunday’s Japanese grand prix — just 11 days prior to opening practice in Korea.

An accident at the site of next month’s inaugural Korean grand prix is not expected to further delay completion of the Yeongam venue. Late on Wednesday, it emerged that a crane had tipped over on the main straight, with the overloaded arm crashing into a grandstand.

F1 teams concerned about Korea GP fate
Race organisers hit back on Monday amid widespread reports the inaugural Korean grand prix was in real danger of being called off. F1 teams, media and personnel are concerned that – despite FIA rules requiring a final track inspection 90 days before a new event – the uncertainty about Korea is still growing just three weeks before they are due to fly to the east Asian nation.

Korea’s F1 track manager admits time is running out for the Yeongam venue to be ready for its inaugural race next month. In an interview with the Associated Press, Jason Cho was asked if – mere days ahead of the crucial inspection by the governing FIA – he is feeling stressed.

Rumours that Korea will have to call off its formula one debut in October are refusing to go away. The FIA’s Charlie Whiting visited the site in the South Cholla province recently, amid organiser KAVO’s insistence the facility is nearing completion.

South Korea did not appear on the leaked provisional 2010 F1 calendar
South Korea has taken another step towards hosting a round of the formula one world championship. Earlier in September, the organisers Korea Auto Valley Operation (KAVO) said they had lined up nearly half of the necessary funding for building and operating the circuit, which is already under construction south of Seoul.
Based on a statement provided by race promoters KAVO on Tuesday, it was reported by multiple outlets that construction of the track in Joellanam-do province is “on schedule”. 
The German news magazine Focus has claimed that the circuit under construction in Yeongam may not be completed in time.
