Capping off his near perfect OFFC Campaign, Trent Hindman and team-mate Dalton Kellett had the perfect team weekend. Showing why he is regarded as one of the top up and coming drivers in North America, Trent came into the weekend only needing to finish 4th in one of the two remaining rounds to clinch the title.

In Kentucky Firestone Indy Lights race
Team E Racing’s Rusty Mitchell did a masterful job to avoid getting caught up in a five-car accident at the start of Sunday’s Firestone Indy Lights race at Kentucky Speedway, and ended up finishing eighth to continue his record of never placing outside of the top 10 in an oval-track race.

The highest placed American drivers under 20 years-old in both the F2000 Championship Series and the F1600 Formula F Championship Series prior to the conclusion of the season (following F2000 at Mosport and F1600 at Mid-Ohio) will be included among the list of candidates for prestigious Team USA Scholarships.

For the second time in a week Anders “The Viking” Krohn was extremely strong in the first half of a Firestone Indy Lights race until a problem occurred, forcing the popular driver from Stavanger, Norway to salvage a top-10 finish instead of recording the top-five or podium that appeared to be so close.

American teenager finished fourth in the Formula Ford Festival and ninth in Walter Hayes Trophy. American Brett Smrz took another step towards a successful career in motorsports over the past several weeks, racing a Formula Ford in England as part of the prestigious Team USA Scholarship.

In wet Walter Hayes Trophy qualifying
Americans Connor De Phillippi, Brett Smrz and Josef Newgarden all earned the pole position for their Walter Hayes Trophy Heat races. A stark overnight change in the weather conditions failed to deter a strong American contingent as qualifying for the Walter Hayes Trophy took place on Saturday morning (October 31) on the Silverstone National circuit.

British Formula Ford runner-up’s chances at repeat victory halted by overheating engine
Josef Newgarden’s hopes of a repeat win at the historic Formula Ford Festival in England unfortunately ended prematurely over the weekend (October 17-18). The British Formula Ford runner-up and Rookie of the Year failed to finish a lap in the Final, when an overheating engine forced the American into pitlane after a superb start.

Second in 2009 British Formula Ford Series
American rookie signals thumbs up to winner of the highly-competitive series. Josef Newgarden concluded his 2009 MSA Formula Ford Championship of Great Britain campaign on Saturday (October 3) in fine fashion, standing on the podium with two second place finishes in Rounds 24 and 25, giving a thumbs-up to new series champion James Cole.

American enters season-finale with series-high nine wins and a long shot at the title
Josef Newgarden travels to Castle Combe Circuit in England this Saturday (October 3) with his focus firmly set on winning two races as one of only two drivers with a possibility of capturing the 2009 MSA Formula Ford Championship of Great Britain.

Team USA Scholarship founder Jeremy Shaw has announced that American teenagers Conor Daly and Josef Newgarden have been awarded the prestigious scholarships for the 2008 season.
