PSL Karting leads all teams at ECKC competitions with 22 team wins to date.
While its drivers have been making history elsewhere in the Fall and Winter by winning a number of titles following summer schedules, the Eastern Canadian Karting Championship has been writing its own history book over the last three seasons, a history that is quickly becoming the go-to reference with regard to Canadian karting teams and drivers.

The ECKC will offer Briggs & Stratton Junior and Senior/Masters in 2013
As its 2013 season continues to take shape, the Eastern Canadian Karting Championship has news today that four-stroke racing will be back on its tracks this summer and organizers are once again firmly behind the Briggs & Stratton LO206 platform. Already well known in North America for producing the most competitive Rotax Max Challenge summer series, organizers are now looking to continue developing their four-stroke classes as well.

Goodwood Kartways – IPK North America FWT Homestead Report
The second round of the Florida Winter Tour International Rotax Max Challenge is now complete and in a repeat of round one, Goodwood Kartways – IPK North America had impressive runs from both its veteran drivers and those sponsored and running with other Praga teams. Young drivers continued to find time and learn valuable lessons as well, and the combined effort netted five top-five finishes and three podiums at Homestead Karting.

World Champion Bas Lammers will lead the IPK charge at SuperNationals
Prior to SuperNationals last year a team truck rolled out of Goodwood Kartways freshly minted and ready to introduce Praga Kart to North America. Now one year on, the size of the team truck has doubled, Praga Kart is the reigning World Champion, and the same group is heading to Las Vegas this week to introduce OK1 to North America at SKUSA SuperNationals XVI, the premier karting event on the planet.

Adams now has back-to-back titles in Ontario
After a month of waiting through protests and appeals, formula ford racer Michael Adams has officially been confirmed as the Toyo Tires F1600 Champion for 2012. In arguably the tightest championship chase in racing over the course of the year, Adams emerged from a last race, last lap, last corner confrontation to secure the crown, and now adds it to his B-Class Championship from 2011.

Intrepid North America wins at Le Monaco
Intrepid North America wrapped up its Eastern Canadian Karting Championship campaign over the weekend as the team travelled to Quebec for the 14th Annual Monaco de Trois-Rivières. Kicking off race week at the famed Canadian street event, Intrepid drivers scored three more wins, six more podiums and qualified their first driver of the season for the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals to be held in Portugal this November.

Di Leo scored his third win and leads the championship
Intrepid North America was back racing close to home over the weekend as the Eastern Canadian Karting Championship made its second visit to Ontario for races four and five. Mosport International Karting was the venue for the doubleheader, and fifteen Intrepid North America team members were in action scoring two more wins and nine more podiums.

Inaugural event nearly set for freen flag
The inaugural Kart Stars Grand Prix of Toronto is now just six days away and as IZOD IndyCar Series’ teams begin to roll into Exhibition Place, one hundred thirty karters are getting set to do the same. All the final details for the historic event are falling into place, and as race fans of the Greater Toronto Area file into the Lakeshore this year, the sport of karting will be on full display for all to see.

Kart racing in Canada now has another signature event: The Kart Stars Grand Prix of Toronto! Racing at Exhibition Place in conjunction with the Honda Indy Toronto and the Bay Street Grand Prix, the Kart Stars Grand Prix of Toronto delivers a truly unique opportunity in karting. With a temporary track located inside the famed IndyCar circuit, karters will be just feet from screaming Indy cars and even closer to the thousands of fans that annually flock to the waterfront to appease their need for speed.

Rinaldi was on both Micro-Max podiums at Homestead Karting.
Intrepid North America returned to action at the Florida Winter Tour a week ago and for the seventh-consecutive event had a driver on top of the podium – and despite boasting champions from the Pan American Challenge, SuperNationals and the Red Bull Kart Fight since its inception, the latest victory may prove to be the biggest one yet.

Robichon gave IndyCar top marks for its first Scouting Combine
Zach Robichon was back behind the wheel representing the Eastern Canadian Karting Championship a week ago as he was one of ten drivers competing in the inaugural IZOD IndyCar Mazda Road to Indy Scouting Combine. On hand at Andersen RacePark in Palmetto, Florida, and fresh from winning the Hinchtown.com Canadian Karting Shootout, the SRA/Birel DD2 star was once again thrilled to be in an open-wheel formula car and absorb everything industry veterans had to offer.

Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals report – Ouellette champion and Team Canada 2nd
PSL Karting can now boast its third Rotax Max Challenge World Champion as Pier-Luc Ouellette captured the DD2 crown Saturday at Al Ain Raceway, United Arab Emirates. It’s the same spot he earned a DD2 Grand Final win in 2007, one that came a year after Luc Sauriol won the Masters Rotax Max World Championship in Portugal. The event brought the race season to a close for PSL, one that began when it was named the #1 CRG distributor in the world and now ends with the Rotax World Championship.

Robichon will represent the ECKC at the Indy Scouting Combine.
The overwhelming jewels of the 2011 Eastern Canadian Karting Championship awards package were trips to the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals for class champions in Junior, Senior and DD2. Following that came an incredible opportunity to be among a very select few to attend the Mazda Road to Indy Scouting Combine. As one event draws to a close this weekend, the other will be getting set to begin, and it’s a fact that had ECKC officials with a dilemma on their hands just a few weeks ago.

Olivier Bébard is one of eight drivers headed to Hinchtown Tuesday
Eastern Canadian Karting Championship drivers are back in action tomorrow as six will be on hand at the Hinchtown.com Canadian Karting Shootout. Of the eight drivers invited to the 3rd Annual event at the Mosport Driver Development track, Zach Robichon, Tyler McEwan, Steven Szigeti, Luke Chudleigh, Cameron Morrison and Olivier Bedard each completed full ECKC schedules in 2011, and they equally represent the ‘Team Canada’ classes of the series coming from DD2, Senior and Junior respectively.
