Valsecchi hoping to be Lotus reserve
New GP2 champion Davide Valsecchi has admitted his best hope of breaking into formula one in 2013 is as a third driver.

Mercedes also working on Lotus braking idea
Mercedes is the next team working on a copy of Lotus’ innovative ‘braking ride-height correction’ system ahead of the 2012 system.
Shortly after news broke that the former Renault team had devised a passive and therefore legal system to stabilise a car’s ride height under braking, reports emerged that Ferrari is “working on a similar system”.

Senna eyes Nascar option – report
Bruno Senna is considering Nascar as a back-up option should his F1 journey end for now.
That is the claim of the Italiaracing website, in the wake of the Brazilian’s loss of his Renault/Lotus race seat. It is rumoured Senna, 28, could return to the team’s reserve role for 2012, but Italiaracing said Nascar is another option, where his countryman Nelson Piquet Jr headed after his own F1 career foundered in 2009.

Grosjean signs deal to be Raikkonen’s teammate – report
Lotus has decided to pair Kimi Raikkonen with new GP2 champion Romain Grosjean next year.
That is the exclusive claim of the Italian news source Italiaracing, citing “more than reliable French sources”. “There is no official announcement (yet) but the contract has been signed in recent days,” read the report.

Ferrari test 2012 front wing in Korea
Ferrari is testing a new front wing in Korea practice this weekend in line with the aggressive philosophy of its 2012 car.
Italian and Spanish media reports have revealed that Maranello’s next single seater is known internally as ’663′. Italiaracing reports that the wing tested in Korea on Friday is “inspired by Red Bull’s design”.

Ecclestone watches female driver de Villota test F1 car
A female driver conducted a secret formula one test with Renault two weeks ago, according to international publications.
Spain’s Marca and Italy’s Italiaracing report that 31-year-old Spaniard Maria de Villota, the daughter of former F1 driver Emilio de Villota, was at the wheel of a two-year old Renault R29.
