Bernie Ecclestone has tipped his friend Sebastian Vettel to win a fourth consecutive world championship in 2013.
“I see it in this order: Vettel, Alonso, Button and Hamilton,” he told the Italian sports daily La Gazzetta dello Sport. The F1 chief executive said he was curious to see how Mercedes’ sweeping changes for this season will make a difference, and said McLaren has a “better chance” to win the 2013 title compared to last year.

A spat has emerged between Italy’s motor racing sanctioning body, and the Italian grand prix venue Monza.
The existing head of the circuit’s operator Sias, Enrico Ferrari, has stepped down amid an investigation into his behaviour. His successor is Fabrizio Turci, but it is clear the president of the Automobile Club d’Italia – Angelo Sticchi Damiani – is no admirer.

Jean-Eric Vergne has revealed he is still feeling “stiff” after his crash at Monza last weekend.
The French rookie’s Toro Rosso veered of control at the end of the Autodromo’s long front straight during the recent Italian grand prix. Vergne’s car launched over a kerb and landed with a thud, and he immediately complained on the radio about a sore back.

Three podium places and a front-row grid position are the highlights for the Sauber F1 Team after 13 out of 20 races in the FIA Formula One World Championship 2012. Last weekend’s Italian Grand Prix saw the team reach the 100-point mark – that’s already 56 more than their total for the whole of the 2011 season.

Lewis Hamilton gave away more clues about his future after winning Sunday’s Italian grand prix.
Although at Monza the Briton matched Mika Hakkinen’s career tally of 20 wins, he looked miserable as he celebrated the Monza victory with his team. Observing the post-race events, Express journalist Bob McKenzie wrote: “Hamilton looked like a man who has the world on his shoulders rather than in front of him”.

Felipe Massa and Jenson Button will take vastly different approaches to the remaining races of 2012.
Button admitted after retiring from Sunday’s Italian grand prix that his title hopes are now all but over. The 2009 world champion is 78 points behind championship leader Fernando Alonso with seven races to go, while his McLaren teammate Lewis Hamilton is still right in the reckoning.

Mercedes power proves dominant as Fernando Alonso falters down in 10th
Lewis Hamilton has stormed to his fourth pole of the season, after yet another terrifically exciting qualifying session at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza. The Briton will be joined on the front row for tomorrow’s race by team-mate Jenson Button, as Fernando Alonso faltered in the closing minutes to only manage 10th on the grid.

McLaren, Red Bull or Ferrari? Who is going to win Sunday’s Italian grand prix.
“Well, for sure it’s not going to be easy,” said championship leader and Ferrari driver Fernando Alonso. He’s referring to the fact that, despite leading the drivers’ chase by 24 points, he is being hounded in the standings by the Red Bull drivers.

Becoming the first Chinese driver to drive at a Formula 1 Grand Prix
Ma Qing Hua will make his official debut in the Formula 1 World Championship this upcoming Friday at the first free practice session of the Italian Grand Prix which takes place in Monza this week. The 24 year old Chinese driver will replace Narain Karthikeyan at the wheel of the number 23 F112-03 for this session.

Belgian Jerome d’Ambrosio will contest this weekend’s Italian grand prix in the place of Romain Grosjean.
There was speculation Lotus might overlook its official reserve driver for the Monza seat, after team regular Grosjean was given a one-race ban by the FIA for causing the spectacular first-lap crash at Spa last Sunday.
