2013 FIA European Rally Championship
Since the last FIA World Motor Sport Council meeting on 28 September when it was confirmed as the promoter of the FIA European Rally Championship under a 10-year agreement, Eurosport Events has met organisers of rallies on the existing ERC and Intercontinental Rally Challenge schedules to submit to the FIA Rally Commission on 31 October its first new-look ERC 2013 draft calendar.

Giandomenico Basso has followed in the wheel tracks of rallying legend Colin McRae by winning Rallye Sanremo for a second time. The result, his sixth victory in the Intercontinental Rally Challenge, followed a dominant performance on the asphalt event at the wheel of an M-Sport Ford Fiesta RRC.

The race for Intercontinental Rally Challenge glory will reach its climax on the Cyprus Rally from 2-4 November.
With a history dating back to 1970, the mixed-surface event lists a host of illustrious former winners including Stig Blomqvist, Sébastien Loeb, Colin McRae, Ari Vatanen and Björn Wåldegard. Since its inclusion on the IRC calendar for the first time in 2010, Nasser Al-Attiyah and Andreas Mikkelsen have both enjoyed success.

Less than two weeks after Czech Republic hosted round nine of the all-action Intercontinental Rally Challenge, the series remains in Eastern Europe for the Prime Yalta Rally in Ukraine’s picturesque Crimea region from 14-16 September.
