OFFC unveils new logo for 2012 season

The new series name will become “The Toyo Tires F1600 Championship”. Toyo Tires will enter the 2012 season as the spec tire for F1600 cars which also welcomes Honda and HPD to the grid.

Ostella is set for a pair of starts in Western Canada.

Firestone Indy Lights driver David Ostella gets back to his roots this weekend as the championship will race a doubleheader event at Edmonton City Centre Airport. The pair will kick off the second half of his rookie season and have the teenager from Maple, Ontario, looking backward to the early stages of his career.

More open wheel action than ever at the Edmonton Indy

Future stars of open-wheel racing will have a unique opportunity to display their talent in front of the 2011 Edmonton Indy crowd, as the July 22-24 event at City Centre Airport will feature two rounds of the Firestone Indy Lights Series (FIL). Octane Motorsports Events, promoter of Western Canada’s major auto racing weekend, has also announced the return this year of the NASCC Eurasia GT Invitational and of the Canadian Drift Mania Championship programs.

Current Indy Lights points leader heads to second round of GP3 Series this weekend in Barcelona, Spain

MAZDASPEED driver Conor Daly, second-generation formula car racer, will take on the challenging Circuit de Catalunya this weekend, May 20–22 . The international GP3 Series will head to Barcelona to run in support of the Formula One weekend being held at the 2.9 mile (4.6 km) circuit.

Carbone moves way up the ladder to Indy Lights in 2011

Victor Carbone dominated the 2010 F2000 Championship Series en route to six wins and the overall title and will make the leap to the Firestone Indy Lights for 2011 with Sam Schmidt Motorsports. In Indy Lights Series
Walker Racing and Jonathan Summerton have put together a last minute agreement for Jonathan to race in Indy Lights at the 2010 Indy Grand Prix at St. Petersburg this weekend. This deal positions the team and Jonathan as a force to consider for all the other teams. In his first race in Indy Lights with a similar deal last year Jonathan took his car to a 2nd place in the first race and came from 16th to 4th in the second race.

Genoa Racing is the latest team to announce its intention to enter the American Le Mans Series’ new Le Mans Prototype Challenge class for 2010. The Zionsville, Ind.-based team is returning to its roots in endurance sports car racing, having campaigned top cars in Can-Am some 30 years ago.
