Indonesia’s Sentul Circuit joins FIM Superbike World Championship
Tom Sykes was ultimately the man of the moment in two days of Superbike testing at Phillip Island, the Kawasaki man holding onto the top slot in today’s warmer afternoon session that saw only two riders improve. Sykes’s time of 1 minute 31.648 seconds remains the benchmark as the riders now gear up for the opening round of the 2012 FIM Superbike World Championship this coming weekend.

GP2 Asia series calendar problem
It was announced Thursday that the GP2 Asia round 2 in Bahrain has been cancelled due to the current political situation in the small island state. This will give the GP2 Asia series a serious problem since the calendar only contain 3 rounds (6 races) and since the final round is also in Bahrain the organizers has to come up with a solution rather quickly.

He said F1 is not a feasible goal for Indonesia within the next five to ten years.
Indonesia is not ready to push for a round of the formula one world championship, Jean Todt said last week. During the FIA president’s recent visit to the fourth most populous country in the world, rumours suggested Indonesia might be contemplating joining the sport’s annual calendar in the near future.

And A1 Team Monaco joins series
At an event in Indonesia today plans were announced for the street circuit which will be the venue for A1GP World Cup of Motorsport’s return to the country for Season Four. Lippo Village, near Jakarta will host the series only street race of the season, A1GP Indonesia, on 6 – 8 February 2009.

Making such changes needs a lot of co-operation
A1GP World Cup of Motorsport has strong ties with China, having raced there five times in the last three seasons, but for Season Four the series will have a new venue in its most visited country and take the opportunity to help an earthquake struck region.
The proposed World Rally Championship events in Russia and Indonesia have been removed from the 2010 calendar after failing to pass an FIA inspection.
